How do we support our members to decarbonise whilst growing Wales’ economy? ⚡🏭 Well, here’s what Matthew Hindle, Wales & West Utilities’ Head of #NetZero and Sustainability had to say ⬇️ WWU maintains more than 35,000km gas pipes in Wales — serving around a million customers, to keep homes warm and supply industry with the energy it needs. As members, WWU receives a range of benefits, including the invaluable opportunity to collaborate with other likeminded organisations. Our Hydrogen Working Group is even chaired by Matt 🌎 To find out more about membership, click here: https://lnkd.in/epapr653

#Wales needs to be more confident in making its case for investment — a key takeaway from #EmpowerCymru and our CEO, Ben Burggraaf. Three urgent interventions have been identified to support it 👇 🚢Non-pipeline transport of CO2 (shipping) 🌊Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW) ⚡North to South Wales electricity transmission interconnector (PSNC) To read more about how Wales can become a leading clean energy transition hub, read our blog post here ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e5KKBCmW

How can Welsh industry better engage young people to address environmental issues? 🤝 ✅ By creating economic opportunities for the most deprived areas of Wales. ✅ By developing engaging and relatable comms for young people from primary school age. ✅ By working with schools to create better skills and role models for young people. ✅ By organisations adopting the seven wellbeing goals set out in the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act. These are just some of the solutions our CEO, Ben Burggraaf; Techniquest's Head of Education and Engagement Andrea Meyrick; and Jonathan Tench from The Office of the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales discussed at #EmpowerCymru last week.
