There's something quite magical about seeing a team of amazing colleagues collaborating to put together an event that works so seamlessly. For me, this picture represents a perfect example; where staff from dBs Institute and New Century are able to facilitate some of our students to have unprecedented access to state of the art facilities for a truly unique learning experience that blends academia and industry in a way that is rarely (if at all) seen elsewhere. This is experiential learning at its best. Thank you to all involved.

A fantastic night celebrating the talented grafters that make Mcr one of the best cities on earth - the hospitality industry came together for the Mcr Food and Drink Festival Awards last night and it was a cracking doo. Love how this event has become a big team effort from a whole family of people who make it happen out of a labour of love. Headed up by the amazing Alexa Stratton-Powell of ASP Events Ltd with Barbara Taylor-Jones Caroline Moran& Isabella Hart. As always, with huge support from Matt White  who has presented and judged for about 10+years and the fabulous host Anna Jameson too. You'll be reading about it everywhere today thanks to all at SH Comms - Catherine Webber Anna Hewitt and Ellie-Jo Johnstone. Plus the award judges who give loads of time and energy Neil Sowerby, Thom Hetherington, Ben Arnold, Jenna Campbell, Daisy Jackson, Jamie Campbell, Louise Rhind-Tutt, Ruth Allan MCMI CMgr, Kelly Bishop (Kel Page), Georgina Pellant, Hayden Naughton and Saskia Phillips And the amazing team at New Century including Aimee Forster and her team. PLUS the amazing Adi Thomas who has been providing flowers FOC since 2004. And Joe Eastwood who does the same with amazing design. And Mary-Ellen McTague, Kathleen O'Connor and Gemma Saunders at Eat Well MCR  and everyone else who helps out with ideas, thoughts, good vibes etc. And of course the hospitality businesses who work bring the talent day in and day out and turn out in force to celebrate the awards. It takes a village to put on a great awards bash I guess. Challenging times mean it's more important than ever to shout about and support the restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs that you love - and there's lots to be positive about so get out there and enjoy!

Nova Star has landed and the city's first celestial Christmas Tipi is open and ready for your festive enjoyment at Sadler's Yard. The team are serving up a sublime range of Cosmos (which I can personally recommend 😉 ) plus a hearty menu from Parmogeddon (including raclette roasties - say no more). Perfect setting for Christmas get togethers and parties.
