Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership comprises of NHS organisations, local councils, health and care providers and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. The Partnership is one of 42 Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) which cover England to meet health and care needs across an area, coordinate services and plan in a way that improves population health and reduces inequalities between different groups. We work across a geographical area of more than 1,500 square miles and serve a population of 1.7 million people, all with different health and care needs. Our area includes the cities of Hull and York and the large rural areas across East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

Statement from our Chair and CEO condemning the recent violence in Hull 👇 We are deeply saddened and appalled by the violent events that transpired in #Hull and other towns and cities over the weekend. We stand with all our colleagues at NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board in condemning these acts of violence, racism and vandalism in the strongest possible terms. Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all remains unwavering. Violence and discrimination have no place in our society, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated colleagues in the NHS who worked diligently over the weekend. Your professionalism and dedication in the face of such challenging circumstances are deeply appreciated. We are also immensely grateful to our partners, Humberside Police, Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, and Hull City Council and many others for their swift and effective response to the Hull incident and to members of the community who supported the clean-up operation. To our colleagues, patients, and the public who were impacted, whether directly or indirectly, we offer our deepest empathy. We understand the distress and fear that such events can cause, and reiterate that acts of racism, abuse and violence will not be tolerated towards any NHS colleagues. The Step into Health Work Experience week is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of various careers available within the health and social care sector, this week’s event inspired students from various schools within the area about the diverse roles and opportunities in healthcare, bringing the healthcare setting to life on an educational site. This involved a patients journey, their pathway through treatment including hospitalization, assessment, resuscitation, keyhole surgery and Phlebotomy. Sensory props were also used for students to experience illness such as arthritis and dementia. There was also a great opportunity for organisations to experience the programme with a view to scaling up in other geographical areas across Humber and North Yorkshire.
