  • Ashleigh Peters has been named University of the West of Scotland Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship Student of the Year, recognising her outstanding achievements in work-based learning while balancing full-time work and family life. A dedicated Planning and Performance Officer from South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), Ashleigh is currently in the final stages of her honours degree. She was recognised by UWS for her outstanding commitment, academic excellence and ability to apply her learning to make a real-world impact in health and social care. The award is a significant recognition of Ashleigh’s achievements as she balances full-time employment with her studies – all while raising a young family. Having started her apprenticeship three and a half years ago, she is now working towards completing her dissertation and is set to graduate later this year. Ashleigh said: “It’s been a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey. There have been plenty of late nights and busy weekends, but it’s all been worth it. “Studying business management has given me a deeper understanding of leadership, change management and how to implement projects effectively in a real-world setting.” Ashleigh’s studies allowed her to apply for and be successful for a promotion to her current role in April 2024. She added: “I’ve already been able to apply what I’ve learned directly in my new role, which has been a great motivator. “I’m really proud to be recognised by the university – and even more proud that my husband Graeme and our kids, Harrison and Amelia, have been right beside me through it all. They’re so supportive, and it meant the world to have Graeme at the awards ceremony.” https://lnkd.in/e482ZNKr

📣 NHS Lanarkshire is set to introduce eTriage, a digital check-in and triage system designed to enhance patient safety. 🏥 eTriage is an easy-to-use yet advanced digital system that involves the patient self-registering when they arrive in an Emergency Department. 📈 It supports clinicians by gathering key patient information at the point of arrival, allowing for faster assessment and prioritisation of care. ❌This system does not replace staff-led triage. ✅ Importantly, this system will support and enhance our existing processes helping to ensure patients get the right care as quickly as possible. 🔮This marks an important step forward in NHS Lanarkshire’s commitment to modern, patient-centred emergency care. 🌼Launching in Spring 2025, eTriage will first go live at University Hospital Monklands, followed by a phased rollout to University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Hairmyres. 🌍For the full story visit: https://lnkd.in/eBKdHEHC

Sleep plays a crucial role in physical recovery, mental health, and workplace performance—yet many of us don’t get enough of it. To support staff in improving their sleep, we previously hosted a Sleep Workshop, led by experts in the field. The session explored practical tips on creating a healthy sleep routine, managing shift work, and understanding the science behind good sleep. If you missed it, you can still watch the recorded session at a time that suits you. The webinar is available here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eCyREppr This World Sleep Day, take a moment to prioritise your rest and recovery. Small changes can make a big difference to your sleep quality and, in turn, your overall wellbeing.

  • Are you a keen musician looking for a new way to connect with colleagues? We’re exploring the idea of forming a staff orchestra or small music ensemble to bring together talented players across NHS Lanarkshire. Whether you play strings, woodwind, brass, or percussion, we’d love to hear from you! To ensure a good standard of play, we’re looking for musicians who are at least Grade 5 standard. We’re also particularly interested in hearing from any pianists who have reached Grade 7 or 8. Depending on who responds, we could form a string group, wind ensemble, mini orchestra, or even a jazz band—the possibilities are endless! This could be a fantastic way to bring staff together, share a love of music, and potentially perform at future NHS Lanarkshire events. If you’re interested, please email Evelyn.Ferguson@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk, stating your instrument and playing level.
