Supporting healthcare providers to meet the needs of the Armed Forces community.
About us
NHS Veteran Aware accredited NHS trusts and other healthcare providers, have demonstrated their commitment to providing the best care for, and support to, the Armed Forces community in their area. Accreditation involves providers sharing good practice, linking with local services for the Armed Forces Community and increasing staff understanding of how they can support the Armed Forces community. Our ambition is to accredit all NHS providers in England as Veteran Aware and continue to support those trusts that have already accredited.

If your organisation is either a Hospice or an Independent Healthcare provider, have you thought about signing the Armed Forces Covenant? At NHS Veteran Aware we can support you through the Veteran Aware Accreditation programme. It is a framework that is designed to ensure your organisation demonstrates its commitments to the Armed Forces Covenant. Please either contact myself or my colleague, Tony Armstrong BSc. MinstLM 🇺🇦 if you want to know more.
Has your organisation signed the Armed Forces Covenant? ✍ The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, including the bereaved, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives. Any business or charitable organisation who wish to demonstrate their support for the armed forces community can sign the covenant. In doing so they make a range of written and publicised promises to set out their support. ➡️ Sign the AFC: https://lnkd.in/gFGmRSD9 #armedforces #veteran

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a remarkable year at Broughton House. From celebrating two incredible 101st birthdays to hosting 156 gym sessions in our purpose-built gym, we’ve been busy creating moments that matter for our residents and veterans. This year, we supported over 100 residents with high-quality residential care, relaunched our Armed Forces Support Hub to better serve veterans in the Greater Manchester community, and even received the prestigious Gold Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. None of this would have been possible without our dedicated team and loyal supporters. Thank you for being part of our journey—we’re excited for what 2025 will bring! ✨ ✨
