NHS Veteran Aware
Hospitals and Health Care
Supporting NHS trusts, and other healthcare providers, to meet the needs of the Armed Forces community.
About us
NHS Veteran Aware accredited NHS trusts, and other healthcare providers, have demonstrated their commitment to providing the best care for, and support to, the Armed Forces community in their area. Accreditation involves providers sharing good practice, linking with local services for the Armed Forces Community and increasing staff understanding of how they can support the Armed Forces community. Our ambition is to accredit all NHS providers in England as Veteran Aware and continue to support those trusts that have already accredited.

Great piece from Hospice UK about Veteran Aware accreditation. More and more independent providers are accrediting as Veteran Aware. Find out about how your organisation can get involved, email us at rnoh.vcha@nhs.net.

Armed Forces & Veterans Co-ordinator at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. Proud to have served my country both in uniform and now in support of the NHS and the Armed Forces community.
Today I was extremely proud and had the immense pleasure of witnessing our Trust's Chief Operating Officer, Iain Dimond re-affirm our pledges of support to the Armed Forces community by re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust alongside Colonel Marie Richter, Deputy Colonel Army Medical Services. It was great to be joined by some of the staff and Lt Col Heather Sauders to witness and celebrate the event. #Oxleas #DefenceRelationshipManagement #VCHA #GLRFCA

Fantastic day at London Bridge Station for Poppy Day with Royal British Legion. Met so many amazing people, spoke a little about the poppy and the RBL to those who were not aware of the work they do and raised some much needed funds for our Armed Forces community.

I wanted to share an important resource for any one in the Armed Forces Community or anyone working with or supporting. Bonfire night can be a tricky period and through a great piece of collaboration between the Psychologists within Op Courage North and the lived experience of our community we have been able to get a resource produced that we would love to share. For someone truely passionate about developing resources that are engaging and fit for purpose and champion the great work being done across the community this has been a great project.
