At Nielsen McAllister, every team member gets to nominate a day each year to spend helping out a chosen charity. These are days when we can all roll up our sleeves and help out where it’s needed the most. This year we are proud to support DF4TA Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance as a member of their 100 Club as they help support families in need across the city. With this partnership in mind, Thomas and Rory put their charity days to help the team at DF4TA sort through a pile of school uniforms, moving from the Derbion Community Hub to families who need them. Our thanks to them both for their hard work. It’s great to be part of something that’s making a real difference in our community. Today, it was Rhiannon's turn to host our Lunch 'N' Learn and having recently passed her Chartered Institute of Public Relations exams what better topic could there be than sharing her learnings and the skills she's gained along the way. From the importance of measuring and evaluating PR campaigns effectively to sharing her top tips for aligning PR goals with business outcomes, it was another valuable session for the NM team. Thanks for the insights and the bar has now been set - no pressure for the rest of the team! #CIPR #Learning #PublicRelations #Team

Podcasts are an integral part of today's media landscape and provide an opportunity to communicate on an almost one-to-one basis. Simon has just added Talking Rubbish to his repertoire. 'Just'? We couldn't possibly comment... #podcasts #media #B2BPR
Podcasts have become my listen to on my journey to and from work. Whether in the car, on headphones or at home, there's something very personal about the medium and how it directly captures my attention. Now amongst my usual diet of The Rugby Pod/The Good, The Bad, The Rugby and The Rest is Politics/Entertainment (with a side order of Confessions) I'm a new newcomer to Talking Rubbish. Hosted by James Piper and Robbie S. it does exactly what it says on the tin, in a fun and easy to listen to way. For those in the #packaging or #waste industries it's well worth a listen. Indeed, as it cuts through a lot of the nonsense around the perceptions of what materials are 'green' (terrible phrase), and the complexities involved in recycling, it's well worth anyone having a go. For me it's an exemplar of the power of #podcasting, even in what may be seen as a largely #B2B topic and sector. In our ever-growing world of content and channels it will be fascinating to see how more of these come to air and the audiences they gain. Here search will be key, but one thing is sure, quality content and people who know their stuff will be central to any success. But that's enough rubbish from me... Why not have a listen yourself and let me know what you think:

Reacting to the latest trends can be an important way to get your news shared. If you want your company to truly stand out in a crowded market, you need innovative communications techniques that make a lasting impression - a theme seen most recently on billboards around the UK inviting engagement with a well known supermarket's branding. So, excuse our hastily crafted version, but if it's good enough for them then it works for us too! And while you are thinking about the conundrum of the picture below, why not also follow the link to Wendy's blog about engaging with a wider audience? Here she shares her tried-and-trusted methods for getting your business on the radio - a platform that can amplify your reach and connect people to your brand, even in B2B. Take a moment, it could be the perfect read for a Friday afternoon. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ewszYVqJ #unmatched #PR #Radio #tesco

It's just over a week since Simon Wildash and Simon K. suited up in their black-tie best to attend the prestigious UK Packaging Awards. It was a great night to celebrate the industry’s best and finest work – and we were delighted that some of our clients not only made the shortlist but also took home awards. As an agency we work with clients to recognise their achievements amongst their peers. Like the Oscars, award events are an important part of any industry's calendar and while not all walk away with the 'award winning' tagline they provide that opportunity to celebrate as a team over the odd drink or two... Something that Bob Bushby recognised in his blog of a few years back 👉 https://lnkd.in/eC-XATyH So, thank you to Packaging News for organising the splendid event and our huge congratulations to all the winners and nominees - here's to the next event! #UKPackagingAwards #Packaging #PR #UKPA24

Modern slavery is one of the most challenging issues of our age and something that is hidden in plain sight – even in our own communities. That was the sobering lesson this morning at an insightful Marketing Derby Bondholder event organised by charity Rebuild East Midlands. Hosted by Artcore UK, the event saw Rebuild’s Lesley Gladwell in conversation with Upbeat Clean’s Michael Gladwell to explain the exceptional work done by Rebuild to help people into a brighter future once they’ve escaped exploitation. The charity also launched its new ‘Spot The Signs’ campaign, which is well worth a look 👉 https://lnkd.in/eUHuf3MP Simon K. returned from the event sadder, wiser but also proud of the inspiring work being done in the region to help stamp out modern slavery. #networking #derby
