We are an NIHR Biomedical Research Centre partnership between Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology
About us
Our BRC is dedicated to pioneering discovery to transform the lives of patients facing sight loss. Our vision is to change lives across the UK and the world by preserving sight and driving equity through innovation, particularly for those with the greatest need. We are the only BRC dedicated to eye health research. Since 2007, we have been pioneering the translation of laboratory discoveries into treatments for the benefit of patients with eye conditions and for the NHS. Our university-hospital partnership is ranked number one in the world for ophthalmology research (Center for World University Rankings - 2017).

Excited to highlight our #EDI Research Associate Chrissie Adams who spoke at the first-ever #NIHR Biomedical Research Centre & Clinical Research Facility Inclusion Leads Meeting. Chrissie shared our commitment to fostering inclusive #research, addressing how our BRC identified key system and study-level barriers in determining the presence or absence of #underrepresented groups. She also detailed the process changes we've implemented to break down these barriers and create a more equitable research environment.
