We are seeking a Research Fellow to play a key role in improving diagnostics and understanding the disease mechanisms affecting babies born with severe eye malformation, working in close collaboration with UCL Institute of Ophthalmology's Professor Mariya Moosajee. The Research Fellow will focus on the bioinformatic analysis of unsolved whole genome sequencing data from the 100,000 Genomes Project and in-house generated RNA-Seq data from environmental exposures to eye tissue in early development to identify further candidate disease genes. Our Deputy Director, Professor Alison Hardcastle, together with our Deputy Director of Innovation & Enterprise, Associate Professor Fiona Reid, and our Acting Institute Manager, Nick Burt, attended the official launch event of a new Centre of Excellence for Eye Health in Warsaw at the end of February. This is a strategic partnership between UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, ICTER (International Centre for Translational Eye Research), and the Institut de la Vision, whose long-term goal is to enhance the quality of life of patients with eye disorders, by generating new knowledge and developing new cutting-edge technologies in ophthalmology.
