🔋🌍 **International E-Waste Day – October 14th** 🌍🔋 🔌 Did you know that in 2022, **62 million tonnes** of e-waste was produced globally? That’s enough to fill 1.55 million 40-tonne trucks, forming a bumper-to-bumper line around the equator! 🚚🌎 Yet, less than **a quarter** of that waste was properly recycled, leaving $62 billion worth of valuable materials lost and increasing environmental risks. 🔌 As we head towards **82 million tonnes** of e-waste by 2030, it’s time to act! Start small by sorting through your 'drawers of doom' with the **Great Cable Challenge** by Recycle Your Electricals! Choose repair over disposal with help from your local repair cafes and seek out refurbished before buying new. #EWasteDay #CircularEconomy @RecycleYourElectricals @Material Focus

🛠️ **International Repair Day is Coming!** 🛠️ Mark your calendars for **19th October 2024**! This year’s theme, **‘Repair for Everyone’**, highlights the power of repair not only for reducing waste but also for bringing people together, creating local jobs, and sharing skills. 🌍 Repair isn’t just about fixing things—it’s about making sustainability accessible to all. With initiatives like repair vouchers and efforts to lower VAT on repairs, we can make it easier and more affordable to extend the life of our belongings. Let’s rethink our relationship with consumption and embrace the mindful act of repair. Join the movement and find a local repair café near you! 💡🔧 #InternationalRepairDay #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #RepairForEveryone #Reuse #Repair

Incredibly grateful to the The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting phase 1 of this project and for providing additional funding to further this collaboration between NIRN and The Playhouse, Zero Waste North West, Derry City & Strabane District Council and Queen's University Belfast. This support enables us to continue exploring how the Arts can be used to engage communities in circularity and climate action. #circulareconomy #reuse #repair
