Will the USA lose TikTok forever? Imagine waking up on Sunday morning and finding your favorite app, TikTok, vanished. For 170M+ users in the U.S., this might soon be a reality in less than 24 hours. The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld a law requiring TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to divest its U.S. operations or face a nationwide ban. Here’s what’s at stake: -> Lawmakers allege that ByteDance could share user data with the Chinese government, posing threats to Americans’ privacy and security. Meanwhile, TikTok’s defenders argue that banning the app infringes on free speech and disrupts millions of livelihoods. -> To address concerns, TikTok launched "Project Texas," designed to store U.S. user data on American servers. However, critics claim it’s not enough. ByteDance has refused to sell TikTok and is prepared to shut down U.S. operations this Sunday unless an alternative emerges. -> For creators, TikTok isn’t just an app but their career. From influencers who’ve built brands to entrepreneurs driving sales, TikTok’s absence could be devastating. There are several people who have gone from noting to stardom, showing the power of the platform. This isn’t just about TikTok. It’s about the future of platforms where creators grow, the tension between security and freedom and how governments deal with global tech dynamics. If TikTok is banned, what happens to the countless creators whose voices and businesses are tied to the platform? Can emerging platforms fill the void, or will the ecosystem shift permanently? Tomorrow, we’ll know if TikTok can find a U.S. buyer or if it will “go dark.” Either way, the implications for creators, tech companies, and global politics will be massive.

I am still buzzing with energy after a week of connecting with Creator Economy’s top thought leaders and creators at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai. 1 Billion Followers Summit, brought together over 15,000 content creators, 420 speakers, 125 CEOs, and global experts. Dubai has unveiled a $40.8 million Content Creators Support Fund. The initiative, which aims to attract 10,000 influencers to the UAE, represents a significant step in the emirate's strategy to diversify its economy and cement its position as a global hub for digital innovation. 2 key things that stood out for me in the conversations: 💡AI tooling is here to stay to enable content creators to create content at scale. However, the key is to use tools to build authentic content and strong communities around them. The pace of AI change is adding another need for constant learning and upgradation for creators. 💡 Creators spoke about how they have built a business by strongly leveraging the power of their fans and communities, guiding them from what products to launch, where to launch, and giving them an initial product market fit. More and more creators are looking at ways to diversify their income streams beyond the brand deals. Special thanks to Alia Al Hammadi, Waleed Laham, and Jim Louderback for making this all happen. Big shout out to everyone who I met in the past week. It was great meeting new people and building connections! Olena Podshuveit 🔜 1 Billion Followers Summit, Akash Antony, Kirthiga Reddy,Jack Appleby,Raj Shamani, Gautam Raj Anand,  Chris Erwin, Ryan Rahimikia, Ali Rizvi, Brendan Gahan, Tobias Hoss,Etoile De Kment, Deepak Nautiyal.

When you think of Dubai, what comes to mind? The world’s tallest buildings, luxury living or maybe the futuristic skyline? But there’s so much more happening. Dubai is quietly becoming a global epicenter for creators and founders. In recent years, the UAE has positioned itself as a hub for innovation, with initiatives that align with entrepreneurs and creative talent. Whether it’s the ease of setting up a business, tax-friendly policies or a multicultural ecosystem, Dubai has become a fertile ground for creators and founders to build and scale. Why Dubai is leading the space: —> With initiatives like the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy, the city aims to make creative industries contribute 5% of GDP. Creators now have platforms to grow like never before. —> From co-working hubs to content creation studios, the city is designed to push collaboration and creativity. —> Dubai brings together people from over 200 nationalities. It’s not just a place for ideas to grow but for connections to amplify. —> With its fast-growing digital infrastructure, Dubai is growing as a hub for influencers, podcasters, video creators and more. The opportunity to monetize your craft here is massive. One event that perfectly symbolizes Dubai’s rising dominance in this space is the 1 Billion Followers Summit. It’s a movement, bringing together global changemakers, creators and entrepreneurs to share ideas, collaborate and grow. Attending this for the last 2 days has been huge for me personally. It’s incredible to see the energy, the vision and the tangible impact of what we’re building in the creator economy. Today is the final day of this event and I’d love to connect with fellow creators and founders who share the vision of building something meaningful. Drop me a message and let’s make the most of this chance to connect and create. Deepak Nautiyal NoiLabs #1billionsummit #creatoreconomy

Most creators are not working just as creators. They are the producer, videographer, marketer, accountant and the list goes on. While it is a confident feeling to know that you can do it all, the reality is that you should not be doing it. You need to know when and how to delegate your tasks in the right way to protect your energy and focus on what you do best, ie, creating. If you are in the creator industry, this is how you should do it: — Ask yourself, What am I the best at? For most creators, that’s the actual content creation. Everything else like emails, scheduling and research can be delegated. — You don’t need to hire a full team overnight. Begin with tasks that consume a lot of your time but don’t require your unique expertise. — Good delegation requires clear expectations. Let your teammates know the why behind the task, how to do it and the deadline for the same. — Hire people who align with your vision because they are the ones who will help you grow. — Trust your team but don't leave them unattended completely. Review their work, provide constructive feedback and celebrate their wins. Over time, they’ll need less oversight. When you delegate your work, don't see it just as freeing up time for today but also as building a system that will help you focus on the bigger picture. You don’t need to do everything to grow but just the right things. What’s one task you’ve been meaning to delegate but haven’t yet? #delegation #contentcreation

The creator economy in the US and UK has never been this exciting. What was initially just a method for people to share stories and grow their expertise online has become a global force worth $250 billion. However, despite this explosive growth, the industry has its own potential and challenges. This is what is shaping the future of the industry: —> Creators are moving beyond platform dependence. They are launching their own courses, selling digital products and building personal brands as independent businesses. This is to create diverse income streams, giving them greater control over their work and financial future. —> Music streaming platforms democratized music distribution, but fairness in compensation remains an issue. In Europe, governments are pushing back against major platforms, with regulatory moves designed to ensure fairer compensation for artists. —> Social media isn’t just for entertainment, it’s also where many now turn for news. However, challenges around censorship, misinformation and safety persist. Globally, governments are trying to maintain a balance between free speech and curbing harmful content. In the last few years of observing and building in this space, I have realised that the biggest strength of the creator economy is its adaptability. The focus is no longer just on content creation but on empowering creators to take charge of their futures and build sustainable businesses. So where do you see the creator economy headed next? #creatoreconomy #contentcreation

There is nothing more adventurous than building a startup. I’ve always been very excited about the thrill of adventure - bungee jumping off cliffs, skydiving and pushing my limits to feel that rush. But if there’s one experience that goes beyond them all, then it is the unpredictable ride of building a startup. Entrepreneurship is an adventure sport in itself, but instead of a harness or parachute, you have vision and grit. Building a company is like raising a child, you pour everything you have into it - time, energy, sleepless nights and heart. You celebrate its first steps, protect it and dream about the day when it will become independent. But what no one says about it is that it’s not always glamorous.  It’s making tough calls when you’re unsure.   It’s facing self-doubt and still showing up every single day.  It’s finding the strength to rally your team when you feel like giving up. Every founder knows that startups test your limits. But they also teach you the deepest lessons about creativity and leadership. The real thrill is in taking risks and making it through, no matter how. What’s your most thrilling moment as a founder? #founder #entrepreneurship

The biggest investment for any creator is not in equipment. But it is in financial literacy. It’s easy to think that the only way to grow as a creator is with better cameras, editing tools or even hiring a great team. But the truth is that none of that matters if you’re not in control of your finances. This is because the creator economy has now moved from being just about content to business and like any business, cash flow, investments, and smart money management are important for growth. This is exactly why we say that every creator should prioritize financial literacy: —> The creator economy is very uncertain and algorithms and brand deals can be inconsistent. Understanding your income streams, budgeting effectively, and building savings can help you deal with the months that aren't always the best. —> Whether you want to start your own merchandise or build a digital product, all these growth opportunities require capital and smart allocation of resources. Financial literacy ensures you’re not just earning but reinvesting wisely to scale your brand sustainably. —> Creators often rely on platforms and brand deals for income, but this can mean sacrificing control. With financial literacy, you can build multiple revenue streams like courses, memberships, or even investments that give you financial independence. In fact, Dave Ramsey, a creator with millions of followers has also commented once saying that it’s not about how much you earn but how smartly you manage it. You need to know that at the core of every successful creator’s journey is the ability to think like a CEO and financial knowledge is a must-have for that. What’s one financial tip you wish you knew earlier in your journey? #financialliteracy #contentcreation
