Half-Way Mark Base Maintenance - Altnahinch WTW Site Visit Director of Infrastructure Delivery Tzvetelina Bogoina and Head of Integrated Capital Delivery Mark Mitchell, recently joined the NI Water Base Maintenance Project Team and Customer and Operations Directorate colleagues at Altnahinch Water Treatment Works to hear more about progress to date. This visit marked the mid-point of the planned Base Maintenance work at Water treatment works province wide, which involves key improvements at 18 water treatment sites based on prioritised needs. The improvements highlight the requirement for committed continual funding to maintain such high standards at the sites. The NI Water project team has completed essential improvements at Altnahinch Water Treatment Works to maintain the quality of wholesome drinking water to customers in the area. The improvements, delivered as part of the PC21 Base Maintenance contracts have enhanced the efficiency, resilience, and overall performance of the Water Treatment Works. Altnahinch WTW will continue to serve local communities for years to come. NI Water will continue to invest in improvements which play a vital role in safeguarding the quality and reliability of the public water supply. NI Water is committed to maintaining its assets to the highest possible standards and operating sustainable water treatment practices. The project was managed on behalf of NI Water by Tetra Tech Consulting Engineers. The works were installed by GEDA-WSI. GEDA Construction Tetra Tech Water Solutions Ireland Ltd

Check out the recently published article on our award-winning Ravenhill Avenue Flood Alleviation project. The recently completed £7 million Flood Alleviation Project will benefit the Ravenhill Avenue Area of South Belfast. The project was delivered as part of the Living With Water in Belfast Plan, which aims to help protect against flooding, enhance the water environment and provide the increased capacity needed for economic growth. Some sewers in this part of South Belfast date back to the early 1900’s and were in very poor condition, and this essential project will improve the sewers, whilst significantly reducing the risk of ‘out-of-sewer’ flooding and environmental pollution in the area. The project has also removed approximately 9 hectares of stormwater from the combined sewerage network, the equivalent of 12 football pitches! allowing it to return directly to the River Lagan. https://lnkd.in/gieJimgP
