𝗡𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 ✊ Our community of Newcastle United Foundation Walking Football, Dementia Walking Football, Headway Walking Football and United for Sanctuary participants have come together to learn more about hate crime. By hosting an event at NUCASTLE in partnership with Northumbria Police, we are passionate in raising awareness of what hate crime is, how to prevent it and how to report it. The event highlighted the inspirational story of James, one of our walking footballers with an acquired brain injury, following an engaging quiz on Newcastle United, the North East and hate crime. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the Foundation before heading up to our fantastic rooftop football pitch to enjoy a game of walking football. NUCASTLE is a Safe Reporting Centre providing a neutral location to report hate crime incidents without having to contact the police. We're here to help.

Meet Community Engagement Officer PC Katie Flynn, winner of our Pride in Policing Problem-Solving Award 2024 👋 It’s Hate Crime Awareness Week and we’re recognising advocates in our force, like Katie, who help us in our mission to reduce hate crime in Northumbria and provide support for the victims who suffer hate crime. Katie is passionate about raising awareness of the effects hate crime among school-aged children. In her role, she has worked alongside uniformed services students at Ashington College to create an engaging video teaching children about the impact of hate crime and how to report it. Congratulations, Katie on your award and your continued commitment to the communities you serve 👏 #NationalHCAW #HateCrimeAwareness

It's World Mental Health Day (#WMHD24) - let's talk about it 🧠💬 Our ambition at TeamNP is to build an environment where positive mental health is embedded in the core of our organisation, creating a culture that is mentally healthy, psychologically safe and assures our officers, staff and volunteers can thrive 💙 Though we acknowledge there is always more to be done, we've made some great steps on this journey to address mental health in the workplace over the past year, including: • Embedding a mental health awareness package in our onboarding inputs to frontline officers and volunteers • Updating the wellbeing pages on our force intranet with new mental health support content and a support hub for all to access • Continuing our partnership with The Jordan Legacy CIC • Introducing a 24/7 365 days a year confidential mental health crisis line led by National Police Wellbeing Service, Oscar Kilo • Reviewing our mental health and wellbeing provisions to ensure they are response and effective Remember: it's ok not to be ok. Lifting each other up and looking out for your colleagues, especially in a challenging work environment, helps to build the culture we're striving for and makes TeamNP a great place to work. Ready, set, go! TeamNP take home gold in this year's Newcastle NE1 Dragon Boat Race 🏆🐲 On Friday 27th September a team of 17 officers from our Newcastle Neighbourhood Policing Team took part in the annual charity boat race on the Tyne, and raising over £1,300 for the Newcastle Hospitals Charity. Swapping the beat for dragon boat seats, and despite a shaky start in the first of the 3 rounds, the team managed to win the event beating 17 other teams in a nail biting row to the finish 🚣♀️ We're pleased to have been able to participate in this well-loved event alongside other local businesses and city partners, and to hear the support from the Quayside side-lines 📣 Will we be able to maintain our title next year? 🤔
