Nova Pangaea Technologies colleagues held an afternoon tea at our offices in Teesside for Breast Cancer Now to raise awareness and money for cancer research and the vital support needed. This initiative by Breast Cancer Now is held in the month of August and encourages all individuals to come together for a very important common purpose. The afternoon tea saw a pink themed spread of sweet treats, scones, sandwiches and plenty of cups of tea drunk! We welcome Claire Louise Bell who joined NPT this week as Executive Assistant and Business Support. Claire has over 23 years of experience as a personal assistant and within the legal profession. In her roles she has also gained marketing experience, including social media. Claire says, "It is fantastic to be able to support NPT through my skill base and I am really looking forward to working with individuals and teams across the business. The knowledge shared will not only be incredibly interesting but add to my expertise and offer of support.” Lou Lightfoot, Chief Human Resources Officer, said: “We are very happy to have Claire onboard with her vast experience and excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Our spotlight this week is on Caroline Stewart - Financial Controller at Nova Pangaea Technologies.   Caroline, a qualified accountant, brings to NPT many years of experience in financial accounting, process design and management accounting. She has worked in SMEs and large organisations across a number of business sectors.   Caroline says: “I wanted to support a company with a distinctive technology which can make a positive contribution climate change. At NPT we combine hard work with a fun environment and there is a really nice atmosphere here. We welcome Martin Fisher who joined Nova Pangaea Technologies this week as Quality and Sustainability Manager. Martin has over 20 years’ industry experience in petrochemical, chemical and renewables. His expertise includes quality and analytical methodologies, process and operations optimisation and efficiency, including plant management. Martin says, "I am really happy to be here at NPT and to be part of its exciting journey. This week our spotlight is on Jo-Anne Glenn, MSc, MBA, fCMgr – our exceptional Project Manager. Jo joined Nova Pangaea Technologies recently and has brought with her pragmatism and a wealth of practical solutions to our team.   Jo says: “I am usually on the plant floor in a hard hat and safety shoes, and I would not have it any other way! Being part of NPT is very family orientated and we share a common purpose with our endeavors to help deliver decarbonisation solutions. I enjoy project management because I have a chance to utilise my expertise in a stimulating environment. It allows critical thinking, adaptability, efficient practice use and varied scope.”    Sarah Ellerby, CEO, said, “Jo’s work ethic and dedication is exemplary.   She is solution oriented, works well with the team and gets the job done with a no-nonsense approach. Nova Pangaea Technologies welcomes today's King's Speech which references the introduction of a Bill to support sustainable aviation fuel production noted as the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (Revenue Support Mechanism) Bill. This legislative support is key to unlocking cleantech and plant investment through a viable pricing mechanism and will allow the UK to develop and deliver a home-grown SAF industry and meet its fast approaching mandate targets. He has been at the heart of this activity and is our Manufacturing and Operations Manager. He brings valuable experience in process optimisation, quality control, and production planning and implementation.   Simon notes: “I really enjoy my role and it is nice to have my skills put to good use alongside the trust placed in me. I joined NPT because of its sustainable practices to seek ways to replace fossil based fuels and I am drawn to the company’s innovate approach to achieve this end result.” The company’s technology transforms wasted materials, sustainably sourced, into valuable resources. One such resource in addition to the 2G ethanol is biochar. Here at Nova Pangaea Technologies we are preparing our demonstration facility at Wilton International for process readiness of our REFNOVA technology. Nova Pangaea Technologies is delighted to welcome David Potter as Chief Programme and Procurement Officer. David is a highly experienced leadership professional with 24 years at EY. He has delivered major projects across a wide range of sectors in operational and organisational transformation and performance improvement consulting. Prior to that, he delivered major pan-European improvement initiatives in the Chemicals Industry. His extensive experience includes engineering and delivering complex programmes and procuring key suppliers and partnerships. David holds in-depth knowledge of advanced manufacturing having led operating model redesign, strategic scale-up and supply chain transformation.   Sarah Ellerby, NPT CEO, said: “We are building out a world class delivery and execution team for a first of a kind 2G ethanol plant and Project Speedbird entailing multisite implementation. David joins NPT as a key Executive team hire alongside the recently announced appointment of Peter Kay, Chief Operating Officer.   “David is very experienced with over 30 years’ in major project and programme delivery, including advanced manufacturing, and has spent a substantial number of years at EY gaining expertise which will greatly benefit NPT as we advance our position to commercialisation as a 2G ethanol enabler and producer of the highly valuable biochar.   “There is a call to action with an immediate need for technologies to address industry and government decarbonisation targets as we fast approach SAF mandate implementation here in the UK, Europe and globally.
