Established in 2013, NOWIE continues to strive to create better opportunities for women within the events industry through networking, community and fighting for improved representation of women in the workplace, on panels, at awards and in the media. NOWIE is a community for anyone who identifies as a woman or is happy to be identified as part of a group of women. Whilst our membership is overwhelmingly based and / or working in the UK, we welcome the contribution of members from elsewhere.

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the NOWIE - The Network of Women in Events CIC Wrap Up and Networking Event on Tuesday 22nd October. To top the whole event off, I FINALLY met my wonderful mentor - Helen McCabe. I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor for the NOWIE Level Up Program, from my experience I would highly recommend getting involved. I can’t thank Helen enough for all the support she has given me, I always look forward to our chats - they’re like mini therapy sessions for us 😂 Lots of great discussions were had on Tuesday and it was so lovely to catch up with industry colleagues, Robyn Templeman and Kirsty Atkinson - I also met some other wonderful industry colleagues and look forward to seeing what they get up to. Progress only comes with significant hard work, commitment and a constant desire to see change. To that end, NOWIE - The Network of Women in Events CIC is an absolute testament to the people involved 🙌 It is an absolute privilege to sit on the Board of Advisors for NOWIE and to have seen first hand the work which has gone into the launch of Version 2.0. Huge congratulations to Cat Kevern, Emily Kenward, Natalie Evans, Sarah Spurgeon, Jennifer Vance and the rest of the team who sit behind the scenes for everything they have achieved in getting this launch done! The events industry is a wonderful place to work, live and play but it's clear there is far more for us to do, in all sorts of ways, to make it more inclusive. NOWIE is demonstrating a clear route to inclusivity and I can't wait to see where it ends up 🙏
