I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve launched and am now producing the NOWIE - The Network of Women in Events CIC Run Club! 🏃♀️✨ I’m on my own journey of leveling up my personal and professional life, and recently came to the conclusion that these two absolutely go hand in hand 👏To grow, it’s important to work on both—and this Run Club is the perfect blend of the two! As someone who doesn’t drink alcohol and often found traditional networking events—nights spent drinking and trying to remember who you spoke to—harder, I knew I wanted to flip the script. ⏳What if we networked in the morning, fresh and energised, and combined that with movement? 💡 So I thought—let’s take networking outside, get moving, and have real conversations while we do it. Whether you’re running, walking, or doing your own thing, it’s about connecting, encouraging, and supporting each other in a healthy, meaningful way 🌳☀️ And of course—the real motivation? Post-run brunch 🍳🥞. That’s where the magic happens. Huge thanks to Cat Kevern ⚡️ for letting me “run” with this idea—which has become a running joke (pun intended) on every single call we have together 😂🎉 I’m so proud to bring this vision to life with NOWIE—a space for women in events to network, move, and grow in a fun, healthy, and genuinely enjoyable way. When we asked our attendees what they thought was the biggest challenge women face in the industry, we weren't surprised by the results. Cat Kevern ⚡️ shared some behind-the-curtain findings from the NOWIE - The Network of Women in Events CIC survey results, and there were a lot of similarities. So what do we do about it? We speak up for ourselves, each other, and our female counterparts. We need to continue advocating for equal opportunities, recognizing women's worth, and pushing for structural changes that empower women in the workplace. By sharing experiences and amplifying voices, we can create a more inclusive and supportive industry for everyone. Let’s keep this conversation going and turn these challenges into opportunities for change 💪
