Upskilling and further learning not only improves our CV and list of relevant skills for potential job roles, it can reinforce...
✅️ Self confidence
➡️ Motivation and drive
✅️ Interest & passion
➡️ Professional reputation
✅️ Peer respect
➡️ Teamwork- strengthen your whole team
✅️ Scope of understanding of the bigger picture (Or event in my case - Even if you don't use the skill regularly in your specific role)
Last night the NOWIE - The Network of Women in Events CIC Level Up programme held the third webinar on this topic, thanks so much to the speakers Claire Derrick, Serena Varley, and hosts Steph Garey & Cat Kevern ⚡️ from Electric Cat Productions
Upskilling and learning something new can also be so vital for women during menopause and perimenopause, a topic not yet discussed in our programme but so important. Learning not only improves our career prospects but supports mental health, dopamine stimulation, brain training, focus and self worth.
Having recently qualified in a Nutrition and Health Coaching course with the IINH - International Institute of Nutrition and Health, a subject I'm hugely interested in but don't necessarily 'need' for my direct job role and business, I can safely say it's been one of the most fascinating 2 years of learning the different modules.
I'm not saying it's been easy, I've had to pause study several times over crazy event summer seasons, but picking it back up in my quieter months has been very rewarding ❤️
Thanks again for a great webinar and I look forward to signing up for some new courses in April, starting with mental health first aid I think. And I look forward to working with my mentee Hope Ross over our next sessions on the Level Up mentorship programme!
