NSSLGlobal were delighted to be able to host a table of our key Royal Navy, Royal Marine and Army customers at an excellent evening to celebrate HMS OARDACIOUS and the charities they support and to mark the Battle of Trafalgar of 21 October 1805 when, under command of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson, 27 Royal Naval ships defeated a combined French and Spanish fleet of 33 warships and thwarted the invasion of Britain; a triumph of planning and seamanship, which is what HMS OARDACIOUS have shown over successive Atlantic rows. This year the VALKYRIES, an all female crew, will race 3,000 miles in the World's Toughest Row the Atlantic Challenge, with an Army crew also among the competitors. NSSLGlobal is a long standing sponsor of HMS OARDACIOUS through the provision of their critical communications to stay in touch with home, provide media content and stay safe during the Atlantic Challenge. NSSLGlobal is delighted for Hari Budha Magar MBE on the news that he has been recognised with a Pride of Britain Award, which he will receive during the Ceremony being shown on ITV1 at 8pm on October 24. Since his ground-breaking ascent of Everest in May 2023 as the first double above the knee amputee to reach the summit, he has continued in his quest to reach the “six summits”; the highest mountain on each continent, changing perceptions of what people with a disability can achieve. In the meantime, he campaigns with his “No Legs, No Limits” message to raise funds and awareness for Veterans and Disabled charities and is an Ambassador for the GurkhaWelfareTrust (GWT).  He was recently awarded the Inspiration Award by the Soldiering On Awards programme that recognises serving personnel, veterans and families contributions. For his outstanding efforts and determination, Hari was appointed MBE in Jun 2024. NSSLGlobal has provided the critical satellite communications for Hari’s expeditions, enabling him and his team to keep in touch with home, send images and information, and ensure safety in the most treacherous mountain conditions.  Having provided communications to defence users for over 40 years, and with many veterans in the company, NSSLGlobal understands the need to be connected and is proud to support this inspirational individual.     Hari’s Pride of Britian Award:https://lnkd.in/eBy38Bgj Soldiering On Award winners: https://lnkd.in/eMW5_V-n #inspiration #disabilityawareness #prideofbritainawards #solderingonawards #veteransupport #haribudhamagar

NSSLGlobal is delighted to announce it will continue its Gold-tier sponsorship of the Royal Navy's Valkyries with critical communications support. The Valkyries, the first all-female ocean rowing crew from the Royal Navy, are set to take on the World’s Toughest Row, the #AtlanticChallenge2024 – an epic 3,000-mile race across the Atlantic Ocean. They aim to be the fastest female military crew to complete the Atlantic Challenge. Sally-anne Ray, Group CEO, NSSLGlobal, said: “As an organisation with many strongly talented women in leadership roles it makes us especially proud to sponsor The Valkyries. Out on their own in the Atlantic, battling the elements and extreme fatigue, they will be an inspiration, reminding us of what women can achieve when faced with the toughest challenges”. On #WorldMentalHealthDay it's important to recognise this endeavour as part of the Royal Navy’s HMS Oardacious campaign, as this mission not only tests human endurance but also raises vital funds for mental health support. The sponsorship continues NSSLGlobal’s 42-year partnership with the Royal Navy and a 55-year track record of work with the MOD and commercial customers. NSSLGlobal will provide crucial 24/7 connectivity services, airtime and equipment to the team, who are all serving Royal Navy personnel. To support the team you can also donate: https://lnkd.in/e9AVeAJa Every penny raised will help support submariners and their families with Mental Health and wellbeing initiatives. NSSLGlobal is delighted that Battlespace has published an article by Neil Fraser, our Director for Defence and Space, who outlines some views on the importance of more flexible and resilient tactical edge communications in the time of multi-domain operations.
