A great and important panel at Everything Electric over the weekend, discussing the realities of the public charging experience in the UK vs. what is often seen in the media. At one point Quentin Willson asked the whole audience: raise your hand if you’ve had real difficulties with public charging - at which point a single hand went up. One hand out of more than a hundred EV drivers. We discussed a lot but that moment perhaps encapsulated it best. Yes, the public charging experience isn’t perfect yet - there’s certainly work to do - but UK infrastructure is already working for the vast majority of drivers. It was also fantastic to meet with Octopus Electroverse super-users Joanne & her husband, hearing how they’ve charged hundreds of times up and down the UK with jobs that require long distance driving. Plus - nicely proving the charging infrastructure point - the snazzy Octopus ID. Buzz arrived, having been in Berlin just 24 hours before and driven without issue straight to Farnborough!
