  • It´s #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek! We’re supporting Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust because we want you to have all the facts about this potentially life-saving test. Going for your cervical screening isn’t always easy, and everyone’s experience is different. We asked our staff at ONEHealth about their experiences, and here are the results: 👉 >90% of us that are eligible for screening, have attended in the last 3 years and will attend regularly ✅ 👉 50% state that they attend because it´s part of their regular check-up, while 40% like to attend to detect abnormalities early The most common reasons for having delayed or avoided screenings in the past were: 😨 Fear or anxiety about the procedure ⌛ Lack of time or scheduling conflicts ❔ Unaware of the importance of cervical screenings Our MD, Veronique Cotrel, recently went for her regular screening and shared her results to remind us to prioritise our health 👏 We know that #CervicalScreening isn´t easy for everyone. We´d like to encourage you to book in your screening if you haven´t yet, and if you need a little extra support, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust can help with any questions or concerns you have. No question is too big or too small. We´ve linked them below: 💻 Find out more: www.jostrust.org.uk #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek #CSAW2024 JO'S CERVICAL CANCER TRUST TRADING LIMITED

  • It’s World Blood Donor Day! 🩸 Today, the World Health Organization recognises the millions of voluntary donors who have taken the time to donate one of our most precious and valuable healthcare resources. We surveyed our colleagues at ONEHealth Comms and discovered the following: 👉 47% of us have donated blood before, while 53% haven’t 👉 The most common reasons for having never donated were not knowing what to expect, and fear that it would be uncomfortable. Realizing that these apprehensions might be shared by others in our network, we decided to follow long-time blood donor Lina Slim, and first-timer Natalie Verma as they #GiveBlood together. We hope this video will help people feel a little more confident about taking that brave first step of donating blood 😊 Check out the video below and the resources linked in the comments. Let us know what you think! 👇 And finally, a big THANK YOU to all the blood donors out there 🙌 #WorldBloodDonorDay #BloodDonors NHS Blood Donation

  • Here at ONEHealth, we love an opportunity to get together! To celebrate Men’s Health Week we hosted a staff discussion centred around Men’s Health. The Men's Health Forum highlight the importance of sharing our stories, and the impact this can have on others. With this in mind, the ONEHealth team joined forces to discuss all things health and wellbeing. It was a great session - thanks to all who took part 🙂. #MensHealthWeek

  • The end of National Walking Month! As May came to a close, so did National Walking Month and the Living Streets #Try20 challenge. As a team we can all say we’ve felt the benefits of getting outside and walking more, so much so we’ve been persuaded to make the daily 20 minutes a lasting habit. Many of us report feeling an improvement in overall well-being and agree that walking is a great mood-booster😊 You all loved the ONEHealth dogs featured in our first post and so it only feels right to have our furry friends feature again to wrap things up and celebrate the team’s commitment – after all, they were taking part too! 🐶🐾 Have a little swipe to check out the dogs that have been walking us this past month (and our lovely human Amy Sanders), and keep an eye on our posts to see what we get up to next...🤸♀️ #NationalWalkingMonth #WalkThisMay

  • MORE NURSES 🤝DOUGHNUTS! We love a feel-good post on a Friday, so we're delighted to share that we were able to show the amazing Rheumatology and Paediatric nursing teams at Borders General Hospital a bit of sweet appreciation 🍩 Thanks to Kat Custard for nominating the fantastic work they do, and to our very own Neil Custard for arranging delivery of the goods. They say: "Our 10-year-old son has juvenile arthritis, and since his diagnosis 4 years ago we have received the best care in the world from the team at Borders. Without their support, it would have been a very difficult journey." 💞 Check out the pics below to see the team receiving their tokens of appreciation 😋 And that's not all... EVEN MORE NURSES 🤝 DOUGHNUTS! Congratulations to the very well-deserving team at St Luke's Hospice Basildon & Thurrock, who were nominated by Samantha Burton! Samantha said: "The team is made up of truly amazing people who went above and beyond for me and my family during a difficult time. I cannot thank them enough and hope they win all the doughnuts they deserve!" 🍩 We couldn't agree more, Samantha 🤗 we weren't able to show pictures due to confidentiality requirements at the hospice, but we are oh-so happy we were able to deliver some treats and show some appreciation to this wonderful hard-working team 💞 Thank you to everyone who nominated a nursing team, and for sharing your stories. We've loved every moment of this #InternationalNursesDay2024 and #NationalDoughnutWeek collaboration, so we'll see you for the next one...! 👋

  • NURSES 🤝DOUGHNUTS We did it!!! 🍩🍩🍩 We are SO happy to congratulate the dedicated nursing team at the William Drummond Ward – Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at St George’s Hospital in Tooting for their unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to their patients every single day. Ward Manager Maximo expressed his gratitude, stating, "Even without doughnuts, hearing this feedback is more than enough. It's a fulfilment of what we really do and the care we deliver for our patients." A special thank you to Amy Sanders for her heartwarming nomination, allowing us to celebrate this amazing team today. Check out their photo below! 👇 Thank you to the entire team for the incredible work you do for your patients. 💖 We'd also like to extend our gratitude to Nicky Taylor and the lovely team at Cavan Bakery in Wimbledon Park, who generously donated a dozen of their National Doughnut Week doughnuts to support this cause. Check out their scrummy selection in the photos below 😋 Thanks to their contribution, we are able to donate the full amount to The Children's Trust. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need while recognising the tireless efforts of our healthcare heroes. 🙌 #InternationalNursesDay2024 #NationalDoughnutWeek #Nurses #CharityGiving
