It’s a time for everyone to come together and raise the profile of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗 Nearly 12% of all cancers diagnosed were related to female breast cancer. While the numbers are increasing, the good news is that if the signs of cancer are caught early, treatments and support can increase surviving this devastating disease. Louis Falconer-Flavin is excited to announce a fantastic contract opportunity for a Senior Flexible Pipes Engineer with a leading EPC company in the offshore industry. Based in Sutton, with the flexibility for remote working, this role provides the chance to be involved in cutting-edge offshore projects, focusing on the technical follow-up of the flexible pipe package. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in developing specifications for Flexible Pipe Suppliers, interfacing with project teams, and conducting detailed reviews of technical documentation related to subsea hardware and topside interfaces. You will manage design analysis for flexible systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as API 17J and DnV. Additionally, you will provide engineering support during mobilisations and offshore or site work, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), System Integration Tests (SITs), and pre-commissioning activities. We are seeking candidates with a MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Hydrodynamics and relevant experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly in riser systems analysis (rigid, flexible, or umbilical). Proficiency in OrcaFlex software and strong English language skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams, excellent time management abilities, and the capacity to manage vendor and third-party interfaces effectively. Finlay Asher is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Engineer (Technical Safety) to join our team in Basingstoke, UK, with hybrid working options. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring safety in design is a top priority across all projects. You will be a key advocate for safety requirements, working closely with various engineering disciplines and project management teams to ensure that facility designs meet the highest safety standards. The ability to influence and collaborate with others will be essential to your success in this position. As a Senior Engineer in Technical Safety, you will lead design work and manage activities for assigned projects, providing technical leadership and overseeing the production of key safety deliverables. You will contribute to schedules, coordinate resources, and drive safety reviews across all project phases, from feasibility studies to detailed design. Your responsibilities will include conducting safety analyses, calculations, and engineering studies while ensuring compliance with both internal and international standards. You will also supervise and mentor junior engineers, ensuring that technical standards and project timelines are consistently met. Your expertise will be critical in delivering safety-related documents, such as fire and gas system designs, risk assessments, HSE philosophies, and reliability studies. Additionally, you will actively participate in safety reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in technical safety within the energy sector, coupled with a deep understanding of risk identification and assessment. You should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably accredited by a recognized chartered engineering institute. Experience with onshore/offshore oil and gas facilities, LNG, CCS, and renewables is highly beneficial, and Chartered Engineer status or certification as a process safety practitioner is preferred.
