Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay 💜 💛 Across our Trust, we’re joining together to support children’s #mentalhealth by wearing yellow. With one in six children aged five to 16 identified as having a probable mental health problem in 2021, that’s five children in every classroom. We're committed to making a positive impact. We're also focusing on the wellbeing of our staff, in line with 2024’s theme of workplace mental health. Supporting mental health in the workplace benefits not only our people but also our entire Trust and connected communities. Let’s look after each other today and every day! #timetotalk #HelloYellow

Learning, behaviour and wellbeing are our top priorities at Ormiston, but there is mounting evidence that smartphones are detrimental to all of these. That is why we are supporting our schools to become ‘smartphone-free’ – not in bags by desks or in pockets, but fully phone-free. Principal at Ormiston Chadwick Academy in Widnes Cheshire, Jen Lowry-Johnson and our Education Director Aron Whiles have written in today’s Schools Week about our policy, the different models our schools are adopting, and the importance of consulting and collaborating with parents before they are introduced.
