Spotlight on Spinouts 2025 🔍 The Royal Academy of Engineering, in conjunction with Beauhurst, has released its latest Spotlight on Spinouts report, highlighting the state of the UK’s spinout economy. This report provides valuable insights to encourage wider discussions and inform future policy in this area. We’re delighted to see Parkwalk recognised as the leading investor in UK university spinouts: “Parkwalk remained the top investor in spinouts by deal count and value. It has participated in 325 equity deals since 2015 and contributed to deals worth £1.84b.” Moray Wright, CEO of Parkwalk, said: "It is encouraging to see a pick-up in investments in the UK deep-tech sector. 🚨 Brainomix funding round announcement 🚨 We are pleased to announce our latest investment in Brainomix, a University of Oxford spinout pioneering AI-powered imaging tools in stroke and lung fibrosis, as part of a £14m Series C funding round. The funding will support commercial expansion in the US as well as clinical uptake of its breakthrough solution in lung fibrosis. John Pearson, Chief Investment Officer at Parkwalk, said: “Brainomix has successfully demonstrated its platform imaging software is able to deliver both significant societal impact and strong growth for investors. Parkwalk is excited to continue supporting a company that is creating comprehensive solutions to critical needs and implementing them at scale.” Lord Vallance, Minister for Science, said: "The AI tools developed by Brainomix are already helping patients get fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment for a range of serious conditions. Securing this funding will help them to grow, create more jobs, and support more patients.
