Yesterday, we joined the wonderful paediatric epilepsy team from Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust for an awareness day in Luton introducing young adults, parents/carers and professionals to online support with PKB. It’s a sobering reminder that around 1 in 100 people live with epilepsy in the UK. Managing this condition can be challenging, often requiring coordination among multiple teams to provide effective support. So it was truly inspiring to be on the ground sharing and hearing feedback on how access to a personal health record can help: ✅ Care plans with information and emergency care guidance for patients to manage at home. For the paediatric epilepsy team this includes a CHIT CHAT care plan to support children as they approach adult services ✅ Symptom tracker and diary for patients or carers to document seizures for clinicians to review ✅ Two-way messaging for quick and efficient communications between patients and their clinical teams. The attachment feature allows them to attach key documents to share and patients to send a video of their seizure, The team covering Luton and Bedford find this often helps alleviate the need for an in-person appointment ✅ Medical record detailing important information such as medication and care plans for patients to share with others involved in their care. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet and hear such positive patient feedback on your work to support them with PKB. #epilepsyawareness #PersonalHealthRecord ##PatientEmpowerment

fantastic talk by Mohammad Al-Ubaydli on #personalhealthRecords & how important it is to put in place to effectively manage care, especially in chronic conditions. regulation plays a huge part in adoption and development. This can also be a force for good in terms of integration and interoperability. #GHE24

We can’t think of a better way of concluding #GetOnlineWeek than recognising everything our customers and teams have done to support patient registration this week 💪 🎉 One standout moment was the wonderful opportunity to visit Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and celebrate all the fantastic progress since going live a year ago. It’s been an incredible journey and we couldn’t be prouder of what’s been achieved so far: ✅ 128,000+ patients registered, using the portal to view appointments, clinical correspondence and health information ✉️ 100,000+ letters viewed online saving postage and paper 📞 Hundreds of phone calls to MTW teams prevented, saving patients and staff valuable time As a Net Zero company, we take our environmental commitment seriously and are thrilled to witness the rapid adoption of digital solutions. The team estimate it’s already saved the equivalent of 36 40ft trees, which made it particularly fitting for our CEOs to mark the occasion by planting an extra tree in the hospital grounds. Planning is now underway to add referral letters as well as automatise the validation of waiting lists. We look forward to continuing to work closely with MTW to support their patient experience, clinical transformation and sustainability goals Di Peach Becky Nelhams Tabitha Jovanovic Owen Thompson Darryl Nicholas #PatientEmpowerment #PersonalHealthRecord #DigitalInclusion

Today kicks off #GetOnlineWeek, a campaign by the Good Things Foundation which helps people across the country boost their digital skills and confidence. As a company committed to everyone having online access to their personal health records, we recognise the huge value in improving digital skills. It’s essential for more people to engage in managing their own health and vital to enabling efficiencies in healthcare delivery. While we understand that digital engagement may not be for everyone, we wholeheartedly support initiatives like this that empower those who wish to participate. #DigitalInclusion #PatientEmpowerment

Marking #WorldMentalHealthDay, we recognise the challenges the mental health sector faces meeting ever-increasing demand with limited resources. While digital solutions aren't a panacea, there is more that can be done to enhance support for service users, helping them engage and self manage during their wait and throughout their treatment. Integrated into the NHS App and already collaborating with 15 mental health organisations across primary and secondary care, PKB’s key areas of support include: ✅ Digital access to appointments & letters ✅ Implementation of national programmes like Waiting List Validation with Waiting Well resources ✅ Care planning ✅ Questionnaires for PROMs to inform efficient decision-making and timely interventions Contact our PKB team to find out more and read about City and Hackney's innovative programme to coordinate multi-disciplinary support for SMI service users in the area 👇 https://lnkd.in/eJJnVZhd
