📢 Important Update for Employees Claiming Tax Relief on Employment Expenses 📢 Starting 14th October 2024, HMRC will require all employees claiming tax relief on employment expenses to complete form P87. This applies to claims under £2,500 through PAYE. 🔍 Key Changes: ⚫ Claims will no longer be submitted online or by phone. ⚫ Employees must visit GOV.UK to download form P87 and check eligibility. ⚫ Additional evidence may be required depending on the expense being claimed. ⚫ Claims submitted since 10th June are on hold, but HMRC will provide further guidance soon. 📅 Looking Ahead: ⚫ Digital submissions might return soon, with a tentative date of 31st October 2024 for uniform claims and April 2025 for all other expenses. 💡 Why the change? To reduce incorrect claims while ensuring eligible employees get their due tax relief.
