About us
Pecan is a community charity based in Peckham, transforming lives through Kindness, Belief and Hope. We work with the most vulnerable people in the Peckham community – including ex-offenders and their families, people living with mental health issues and the long-term unemployed. We never stop believing that all people can achieve their God-given potential. And our work prompts transformation across the community. We see those we work with as people who need supporting – not problems which need solving. We believe in unlocking people’s own potential. Which is why our projects address all the needs of our participants – social, material, emotional and spiritual. We partner with local churches and advocate for those we work with, challenging inequality and injustice at a local and national level.

Thank you Alma Strategic Communications for supporting us in a lovely, fun way! #Appreciate
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended and supported our recent charity quiz night in aid of Pecan. Your generosity and enthusiasm made it a truly marvellous event! Pecan has recently faced incredible challenges, and we are honoured to have had the opportunity to support them. The funds raised will go a long way in helping those impacted and rebuilding hope. A special shoutout to our quiz winners - well done! 🏆 To everyone involved in organising the event, and of course to all who attended: this wouldn't have been possible without you. Thank you for making a difference! #Charity #Community #Pecan #Fundraiser #ThankYou

Thank you OCS! Your support has made a great difference at Pecan and we are very appreciative of your generosity and support.
A strong corporate/charity partnership should be there for good times and bad – like any good relationship really. Facilities management company OCS had been working with Pecan food bank in Southwark for a few months when a break-in took place, leaving the charity with substantial losses. OCS stepped in to help out by providing a new security system and installation within days of the incident – helping staff feel safer and hopefully preventing a repeat occurrence. These relationships can be invaluable at times like this – worth so much more than a well-rehearsed PR moment when times are good and the spotlight is on, don’t you think? https://lnkd.in/eqVFCtNG Facilities Management Journal (FMJ) | Shahid Mughal | Kellie Newell #SocialValue #Charity #CharityPartnership #VCSE #SocialImpact

Thank you Marcus Roberts and The Felix Project, we really appreciate your support as we are proud that Peckham Pantry is making an impact on health and finance within our community.
Such a wonderful experience spending the day with Daniel Krutak and the team at Felix’s Mulitbank, which we launched this year in partnership with Amazon, Mayor of London and former prime minister Gordon Brown. It’s such a fantastic initiative that is making a real impact to so many communities all over London, like one of the community organisations we work with Peckham Pantry (Pecan). Loved meeting one of their team today Temitope Oluwa-Batula as she was coming to collect some items from the Multibank to bring back to their pantry and share our with the community there. A huge variety of different stuff that will be a help to people who otherwise might not of been able to afford to buy them for themselves. She was so grateful for what she collected and made me feel proud to be a part of The Felix Project knowing the positive difference we are making to organisations like Peckham Pantry (Pecan) and many others. Everyone deserves to have a good life and we are out here determined to do all we can to help facilitate that. From our regular daily deliveries of fresh and healthy food to now providing essential items from Felix’s Mulitbank too. 🙏🏽🤝💚🚛✨ #inspiration #kindness #community #thefelixproject #multibank #charity #london

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming and hearing an inspiring speech from Cllr Naima Ali, Mayor of Southwark, to our 35th celebration. Our key speakers also included our founder Simon Pellew, Pecan's Interim Chair Dr. Philippa Tudor, CEO Peter Edwards and our Legislative Theatre representatives, plus the launch of our new branding. It was a lovely celebratory event at the South London Gallery, that photographer Julia Hawkins captured perfectly in her images.
