To honour International Charity Day last month, teams in our London office got stuck into sports fundraisers, in support of two of the Permira Foundation's Strategic Partners, who work to support vulnerable individuals within our local communities. Gabriel Andrews led our first group to kayak the 12.5 miles from Battersea to Greenwich down the River Thames in support of the The Change Foundation UK who use sport to transform the lives of marginalised young people. David Hirschmann, Robin Bell Jones and a team of Permira cyclists then tackled the 55-mile London to Brighton bike ride for City Harvest London; a food redistribution charity tackling hunger in the capital. A total of nearly £20k was raised across both events. Well done and thank you to everyone that got involved!

Our ESG team, supported by Euan Long, co-led the launch of the PESMIT playbook at this year's Climate Week NYC. As a member of the Private Equity Taskforce of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, Permira is committed to driving progress towards a more sustainable future. Kurt Björklund, Executive Chairman at Permira said: "Our business is delivering long term value to our investors. In the transition to a low carbon economy, quantifying climate risks and opportunities helps us focus on what really matters. This publication offers practical considerations for private equity firms."   Check out the playbook to learn more about how we're contributing to a sustainable future. #ClimateWeekNYC #PESMIT #SustainableInvestments

Today at #ClimateWeekNYC, ERM and the Private Equity Taskforce of the Sustainable Markets Initiative (PESMIT) launched practical guidance for private market participants on valuing carbon in the context of pre-investment.   The guidance was developed based on insights from the climate change working group, a subgroup of PESMIT. It provides practical considerations to support investment decisions based on quantifiable metrics. While it has been designed for the pre-investment process, its components can also be applied post-acquisition to quantify financial value. The guidance considers five core components to valuing carbon in the pre-investment process: 1.   Regulated carbon costs 2.   Internal carbon costs 3.   Indirect carbon costs 4.   Decarbonization value creation 5.   Carbon adjusted multiple. Explore the guidance and the five core components in more detail here: https://lnkd.in/dt_zVfNm #Carbon #ESG #ValueCreation James Bone, Tomi Greene, Andrew Radcliff, Kevin Bruggeman, Clarissa Drysdale-Anderson
