Recent data indicates that the bump in pay for job-hopping isn't what it used to be. 📉 In early 2025, job stayers received an average wage increase of 4.6%, while job switchers saw a slightly higher increase of 4.8%, marking the narrowest gap in a decade. 💰⚖️💰 This suggests that the financial incentives for changing jobs are not as substantial as they once were. And so, employees are increasingly valuing stability and long-term growth within their current organisations. Would-be candidates must carefully weigh the benefits of job-hopping against the potential advantages of internal career development. Focusing on skill enhancement, networking and seeking advancement opportunities within your existing role may offer more sustainable career growth in today’s job market.

Recruiters are the worst. At least, that’s what I used to think! Back when I worked in customer service, I was the dreaded gatekeeper 👀, first to pick up the phone, first to roll my eyes when a recruiter called. I assumed they just wanted to shove any candidate into a role, take their fee, and move on. But since joining Pertemps, I’ve realised how wrong I was. Recruitment isn’t just about filling jobs - it’s about really understanding people, building genuine relationships 🤝, and making the right match. And that matters, because getting it wrong means high turnover, wasted training costs, and time lost on the wrong hire ⏳. Coming from a customer service background, I’ve always loved helping people. Now, I get to do that every day - supporting candidates in finding the right role and helping businesses grow. And in today’s tough job market, that feels more rewarding than ever 💙. I used to believe the recruitment myths myself, so I understand! But now, I see the other side -and I’m proud to be part of a team that genuinely puts people first. 🥰 What myths have you heard about recruiters? Let me know in the comments! 👇
