About us
Peterhead is one of the UK’s most versatile ports, providing exceptional all-weather, congestion-free deepwater berthing facilities at depths of up to 14 metres and serving a broad range of industries including oil & gas, renewables, fishing and leisure. The port is well positioned to support the transition to net zero and is a partner in the Scottish Cluster that will be developing the carbon capture and storage project at St Fergus.

"It is worth highlighting what the Acorn Project could mean for the North East of Scotland. To name just a few benefits, many thousands of jobs would be created, GVA is estimated to be over £17 billion, access to the EU CO₂ import market opportunity which is currently estimated to be £5 billion per year, and replacement of traditional oil and gas revenues for the Port securing its long-term future." PPA chief executive Graeme Reid.

Peterhead Port Authority was thrilled to sponsor yesterday morning's IoD Aberdeen & Grampian networking breakfast. We heard from the branch's vice chair the value which can be gained from connecting with your peers and other businesses – so much so it forms one of the Institute of Directors' key pillars.

After a quiet end to 2024, our Ship Repair Facilities have started the New Year with a refreshed vigour. Inverlussa’s Camilla Eslea, a 35m aquaculture delicing vessel, was up for a short maintenance visit early on Sunday morning, 5th January. The vessel, with a beam of 15m, including fendering, is the widest that the shiplift facility accommodates. After a well-coordinated day by Inverlussa’s maintenance crew, helpfully supported by our ship repair team, the vessel went back in the water late Sunday afternoon, just in time for the Gripfisk, a 40.3m live fish carrier, one of nine operated by Aquaship, to be taken on the same cradle at 8am on Monday morning followed by the 45m Orkney Ferries Earl Sigurd going into the inside repair hall and in the afternoon MFV Arcturus was docked in one of our slipway berths. Thank you to all vessel operators staff, crew, contractors and PPA staff involved for a safe and well-coordinated start to 2025.
