Like many others around the world, we celebrated the Paris Olympics with our own series of sporting competitions! We took advantage of our on-site gym and pool table, hosting multiple competitions for Gold and Glory. Our canteen was even able to whip up Parisian millefuilles as our monthly treat for our employees, adding some French flair to the week. 🥇 #Paris2024

I recently had the opportunity to visit Plessey Semiconductors Ltd to discuss the initiatives at Millfields Inspired. Our Mirai is getting more famous by the visit here Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK The latest group of people who stand proudly next to our Hydrogen powered vehicle were from Plessey Semiconductors Ltd who attended a 2 day bespoke course at Toyota Lean Management Centre. Their process focuses mainly on R&D of products. Numerous references were made about fellow semiconductor company, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. and how they have embraced aspects of the "Toyota Way" specifically QC Circles. What do Toyota use QC circles for? What is it? In short, it's a tool that we use to develop our people through problem solving. Solving problems isn't easy. If something isn't easy it allows development through stretch. Ensuring the people are coached and developed through strong emotional intelligence, underpinned by Toyota Way behaviours will ensure everyone has an opportunity to develop. Work Experience 2024: ✅ We had a great time sharing what we do with our work experience students! From taking apart motorbike carburettors, to a site tour, to using a pool table to explain optics, they got a deep dive into the world of microLEDs. It's summer, which means it was time to welcome back the Devon Vintage Ice Cream van to Plessey! This year, the sun came out at just the right time, making it perfect ice cream weather for us. Our staff got their pick of Devon-made ice cream and retro lollies. It's work experience week, and we have been having a great time with our GCSE and A level students so far. They've visited the fab, tried their hands at mechanical and electrical engineering, and successfully completed our escape room - all in the first half of the week! #WorkExperience #EarlyCareers

Our annual summer party took place at the beautiful China Fleet Country Club this year. As usual, it's lovely to hang up the fab suits and office wear and get everyone together—family included—to celebrate all our hard work and achievements so far this year. We were fortunate to have glorious sunshine for the party, which allowed us to fully utilize the giant lawn games and inflatable assault course! We're not sure who was more tired at the end - the children or adults. #lifeatPlessey

This week is Bike Week here in the UK, and some of our cyclists celebrated with a beautiful ride on Dartmoor after work on Wednesday. As you can see, the weather was perfect for their 20-mile gravel adventure! Between views like this just around the corner, recently refurbished shower and changing facilities, and a bike shed that includes e-bike chargers, it’s hardly surprising that many of our staff choose to cycle to work. #BikeWeek #PlesseyPeople
