Assistive technology isn’t just about solving problems for people with disabilities… It actually provides solutions that empower, enable, and elevate everyone. For those of us living with disabilities, the value it brings is immeasurable. It’s the key to independence, accessing opportunities, and showing up in the world as our full, authentic selves. Assistive technology benefits everyone, it drives innovation, fosters inclusivity, and builds a more accessible society for all. The Polymorit Ardoo Hoists CareSafe 140 mobile hoist (https://lnkd.in/eQSdYwkT) is a perfect example of this. This incredible piece of kit just keeps adding value for me. Before, travelling came with the extra hassle and expense of hiring lifting equipment just to ensure I could meet my basic needs. Now, with the Ardoo hoist, I can travel confidently, knowing I have what I need, without unnecessary costs or complications. Whether it’s staying in hotels, visiting friends, or simply being out and about, this hoist has added a layer of freedom I didn’t have before. And what a perfect example of this at the With Not For Year-End Event on Saturday! It was an amazing gathering of passionate, driven individuals working towards greater inclusion and representation. Thanks to my trusty Ardoo hoist and the support of my Partner, I could focus on what mattered most… Celebrating this year's successes and connecting with an incredible group of people. Assistive technology like the Ardoo hoist removes barriers, builds confidence, and opens doors to opportunities that were once out of reach. Yet again, this reminds me that when we design inclusively, we ALL benefit. Thanks to the power of innovation, the impact of assistive technology, and the communities that support and celebrate us along the way. It's a pair of hightop trainers that are stone, teal, and black in colour with red accents. The Nike tick is made of pink crystal. #AssistiveTechnology #Inclusion #Independence #ArdooHoist #DisabilityInclusion #AccessibilityMatters #Representation #Withnotfor

🦶 It's not often I get to put my feet up and relax... 🦶 Please excuse the picture but today is December 3rd which is also know as the International Day of Disabled People or #PurpleSockDay. It is celebrated by wearing purple socks to raise positive awareness for disability inclusion. I was made aware of this at a recent Rise4Disability event where Parallel Lifestyle were raising awareness of the work that they do. In their own words: "The day was created by the UN in 1992; with the aims to promote the rights & well-being of disabled people across society & raise awareness of disability in every aspect of political, social, economic & cultural life." Parallel Lifestyle are working alongside BAM Clothing by selling these very colourful and comfortable bamboo socks with 50% of all proceeds on these socks going towards the Purple Sock Day Fund to support D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent entrepreneurs. I think this is a fantastic intiative for raising awareness and if you would like to show your support then you can visit their website https://lnkd.in/dtejGCU3. Dr Shani Dhanda Joshua Wintersgill (BSc, MSc Technology) Victoria Jenkins Dr Mark Esho DBA (Hons), MBE #PurpleSockDay #disabilityinclusion #raisingawareness n/b There is no affiliation between myself or Polymorit with Parallel Lifestyle or BAM Clothing. This is purely to raise awareness.

OT + time to play + problems = fun solutions! Did some training the other day with some great Newham OT’s. They came with a problem. How to get a sling on someone who can’t roll while their bed is against a wall. So we played around. Came up with this. Now the bed is old so basic things like height & reaching over bed rails haven’t been addressed. But super happy with this outcome!! What you think?

Purple Tuesday might have been yesterday, but I’m taking a moment today to recognise and celebrate the incredible ecosystem that helps me show up and be awesome every single day. As a solo entrepreneur, sometimes I’m late to the party… Prioritising some things over others to keep everything running smoothly. However, my passion for inclusion and advocacy is always around. So, here’s my shoutout to the brands, products, and organisations that empower me to do what I do. Apple – Their accessibility suite is next-level, making it possible for me to work on the go without lugging around an expensive, custom-built laptop from PCSpecialist thanks to EVERYTHINGOMNI. Don't forget about the AirPods Max, which elevate my mobile experience, letting me stay focused and engaged wherever I am. Polymorit and the Ardoo Care Safe 140 Hoist – This mobile hoist is a game-changer. It lets me travel without worrying about hoist availability, whether I’m staying in a hotel, grabbing a much-needed massage, or just managing bathroom stops. (Pro tip: There’s a discount link on my Linktree: https://lnkd.in/eQSdYwkT) Dragon NaturallySpeaking by Nuance Communications – This voice-to-text software is essential. When my arms are too tired, I rely on my voice to navigate my Windows device and type efficiently. It’s made a world of difference in my productivity. My Sunrise Medical UK Q400M Power Wheelchair – With custom adaptations from my local wheelchair services, this chair provides independence like I’ve never experienced before. It’s given me the mobility and freedom to take on life without limits. Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK – The knowledge and insights from SMA UK have been invaluable. Despite living with this condition all my life, I had so much to learn, and they’ve provided guidance on adapting my life around it. Essex County Council – Their care budget allows me to have a team of fantastic PAs supporting my every move. It's more than any help, it’s the foundation that keeps everything else in motion for me. Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Access to Work Scheme – This scheme has enabled me to access the Apple devices that fuel my work, empowering me with the accessibility features I need to thrive as an entrepreneur. WelcoMe – This app allows me to share my accessibility requirements with providers before I arrive, ensuring I have a smooth and dignified experience wherever I go. To every organisation and brand on this list, (and there are more, but LinkedIn has a character limit), thank you for making accessibility real, tangible, and impactful. You’re not just providing products or services, you’re helping me and many others push boundaries and continue my advocacy and candid consultancy work with confidence. So, even if I’m a day late, here’s to all of you for contributing towards #PurpleTuesday's mission all year round. #DisabilityInclusion #EntrepreneurLife #AssistiveTechnology

🎺 Sometimes it's ok to blow your own trumpet (or cornet)🎺 Some very kind words from the team at the NHS Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board. We try to give our best for all our customers so it is always great when it is acknowleged. This particular customer had a TurnAid Lateral Turning System installed for a patient in the community. A new handset was required and it was delivered and fitted by our team on their way to the Rise4Disability event in Milton Keynes. This gave the carer and the ICB peace of mind. For more information on the TurnAid Lateral Turning System visit https://lnkd.in/exjQB-eH. www.polymorit.com sales@polymorit.com 0330 660 0125 07544 246 549 #customerservice #5star #singlehandedcare #intergratedcareboard #healthcareequipment #NHS #ICB #independentliving

Polymorit had the opportunity to exhibit at the Rise4Disability Milton Keynes event on Tuesday. Thank you Jade and the team for running a very good show which included community campaigns to discuss the needs of the disabled community. This included speakers such as Isaac Harvey MBE, Nick Wilson and many others who are working hard to drive change. It was great to meet with our ambassador for the Ardoo Hoist, Luis Canto E Castro who was speaking on one of the campaign panels "Making Employment Inclusive and Accessible for All". His work in this sector is excellent. Here is a post from him where he goes into more detail https://lnkd.in/ebZS9d99 I also managed to get myself a couple of pairs of Purple Socks from the Parallell stand. More pictures to follow on December 3rd which is Purple Sock day. We were showing 2 products on our stand. The Ardoo Caresafe 140 Hoist & StandAid Combo and the TurnAid Lateral Turning System. Links for more information on these products will be in the comments. #rise4disability #singlehandedcare #healthcare #drivingchange #disability #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityAwareness #Inclusion #Accessibility #Integration #IndependentLiving #PromotingIndependence #OT #CPD #HealthAndSocialCare

📣 The TurnAid Lateral Turning System is available for hire! 📣 The healthcare industry is going through a testing period with a tightening of purses and so many unknowns around funding. In cases where the length of time for care is unknown then going down the route of hire may be the best option. With the TurnAid we offer a package for the 1st 12 weeks and then per week thereafter. For anyone who needs the system for less than a year or don't want to pay a large upfront cost then this is definitely the most economical way of proceeding. For the 1st 12 weeks it is £150 per week which includes the inital delivery, installation and training. As with the standard package you will get 3 of each sheet plus a foot control to enable to carers to have both hands free. It also accounts for the collection and decommissioning of the system. Every week after the 1st 12 weeks will be charged at £75 per week. We see this as being very beneficial for end of life care to provide a comfortable and dignified way of caring for people who need to be turned for repositioning or personal care. In the community setting we have seen cost savings of close to £2000 per week (going from 4 carers to 1 carer and the service users wife) when using this system making it a very efficient investment for funding partners. Some of the features include: - SWL of 350kg and can be mounted on bariatric beds - Speed control function to allow for 100%, 75% or 50% speed - Foot control to allow the carers to have both their hands free - Visibility out of the bed rails when in the bed rail position - Can be fitted to many different community care beds - Is used to turn for repositioning needs, personal care or fitting of transfer aids If you would like more information on this please contact me using the details below: www.polymorit.com warrenp@polymorit.com 07544246549 https://lnkd.in/esiSfA2J Hospice UK St Catherine's Hospice Sussex and Surrey NHS NHS England NHS Supply Chain NRS Healthcare Medequip Millbrook Healthcare West Sussex County Council Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust NHS West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust East Sussex County Council Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust NHS Crawley CCG and NHS Horsham and Mid Sussex CCG #endoflifecare #healthcarehire #singlehandedcare #hospicecare #communitycare #carehomes #economic

💰 Are you interested in cost savings for the NHS? How does £700,000 sound? 💰 Below is a link to our latest case study. Across 7 years we have saved Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System around £700,000 in care costs by installing the TurnAid Lateral Turning System for 1 service user. The inital care package was 4 carers turning the service user every 2 hours. This was costing the NHS £177,424 per year. The TurnAid meant that the care could be administered by 1 carer and the service users wife which led to savings of around £100,000 per year. The TurnAid is ideal for promoting single handed care for complex care cases. This could be in someone's own home or in a care facility such as a care home or hospice.
