THREAT ALERT - CPI Books, one of the UK's leading book printing providers, has reportedly fallen victim to Medusa ransomware, with 183 GB of data at risk of being exposed on the dark web.   This attack is not only potentially devastating for CPI’s operations but could also disrupt key supply chains for its 2,000+ clients and partners.   About Medusa: Medusa is a well-known ransomware group. They often exploit RMM tools, such as ScreenConnect and other vulnerable or unpatched applications. Breaking Barriers in Cyber: This International Women's Day 2025, Let’s Change the Stats 📈 Tomorrow is International Women’s Day - a time to celebrate progress but also to recognise the work still to be done. Right now, women make up just 17.9% of the UK cyber security industry - and the numbers only get more concerning from there. Despite the growing demand for cyber professionals, only 14% of senior roles are held by women, and the talent pipeline isn’t improving, with just 12% of cyber security undergraduates being women. If we don’t address these gaps, the gender imbalance in cyber will persist for years to come. At PureCyber, we know that we must improve our own imbalances, but we believe that action is the key to change. That’s why we actively work with CyberFirst and Women in Cyber to inspire and support the next generation of female cyber professionals. Through our events with female Computer Science, IT, and Cyber Security students, we aim to show young women that there is a place for them in this industry - and that cyber security needs their talent, perspectives, and leadership, now more than ever. The next 12 months at PureCyber 💫🐺   The PureCyber Team got together today to discuss our plans for the next 12 months: what we’re aiming for, how things will be evolving, and what this means for our people and our clients.   A few years ago, the entire team would have fit in our boardroom with room to spare. Now? Last week, our esteemed director, Rachael Ball, had the privilege of speaking at a Wales Week London event hosted by Pure Cyber and ACCA at the ACCA headquarters. Rachael Ball This session offered valuable insights into cyber security within the finance sector, bringing together Welsh finance professionals to share real-world experiences and address industry challenges. It was an inspiring afternoon as Rachael highlighted the paramount importance of security for smaller firms managing both business and personal financial data. The event commenced with Lloyd Powell from ACCA Wales, who then passed the baton to Damon Rands from PureCyber. Damon skillfully led the discussion on cyber threats and effective security strategies. Rachael spoke alongside John Young from the FA Wales, Steve Ades from Aerfin Ltd, and Rob Merrils from PureCyber.
