Conference season has officially come to a close for qomodo, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to finish than at the 10th annual IoT Security Foundation (IOTSF) conference! All the sessions were thought-provoking, the connections we made were invaluable, and The venue in the heart of London really was a wonderful backdrop to a jam-packed schedule of incredible lectures and interesting panel discussions. Toby Wilmington, our CEO, delivered a standout talk on the 'Evolving Threats Within XIoT Critical Infrastructure,' shedding light on the unique challenges and innovations in securing these vital systems. Huge thanks to everyone we met and to the organisers for a stellar event, now comes the hard work! IET Venues (IET London: Savoy Place and IET Birmingham: Austin Court) IoT Insider Kane Ryans Jack W. Better late than never, but here’s a quick recap of whats been happening here at qomodo in Q3! The last few months have seen us exhibit at 3 different conferences InfoSec & Connected Britain in London, followed by a trip to Austin for MOVE America, where we dove headfirst into the worlds of Cybersecurity, Telco & EV Infrastructure. We also hosted two fantastic events: a Hackathon in collaboration with aqldotcom and Ingenuity Leeds, and an engaging panel discussion on the future of IoT in smart cities (Thank-you to our wonderful panel!) In addition, we’re proud to announce that qomodo is now ISO27001 certified, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to robust security standards. And to top it all off, we were honoured to win Start-Up of the Year at the Leeds Digital Festival Awards! 🏆 Q3 was a whirlwind, and as we stride into Q4, we’re more excited than ever for what’s to come. A huge thank you to our team, partners, and community for making it all happen! #qomodo #smartcities #ISO27001 #q3recap

🔥 We’re proud to announce that we have officially earned ISO 27001 certification, a major milestone for our company! This demonstrates our strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security. A huge thank you to Adam, our CSO, for leading this effort, and to Hicomply for their support in making the process so smooth. ISO 27001 helps us build a solid foundation of trust with our customers and ensures their data is always safe and secure. We take security seriously, and this certification reflects our dedication to doing things right. #iso27001 #cybersecurity #milestone #dataprotection #teamwork #kenanandkel

🚨 New vulnerabilities affecting over 700,000+ DrayTek routers have been discovered, leaving small to medium business networks vulnerable to a range of attacks. The #DrayBreak vulnerabilities allow attackers to bypass authentication and gain remote control of routers, putting network traffic, sensitive data, and operational integrity at risk. #IoT and #router manufacturers - this is yet another reminder of the importance of embedding security at the firmware level. A reactive approach to patching is not enough. #Securebydesign principles protect devices at a 'point in time', but we must think about detection and response when these devices are out in the wild, and increasingly becoming a #threat. Full research from Forescout Technologies Inc. here (great work team!): https://lnkd.in/eMjJC_X6 #cybersecurity #iotsecurity #iotcompliance #networksecurity #dataprotection #firmwaresecurity #vulnerability

Fresh insights from a recently released joint #cybersecurity report. Over 1.2 million #IoT devices have been compromised, emphasising the need for manufacturers to prioritise firmware-level security. Great work here Lumen Technologies! #iotsecurity #iotcompliance #botnet #cybersecurity #iotattack #iiot #routers #connectivity
🚨 A new joint cybersecurity report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cyber National Mission Force, and National Security Agency was just released yesterday, revealing alarming details about the growing threat of IoT botnets. Since 2021, a PRC-linked #botnet has compromised over 1.2 million devices, with 260,000 devices actively exploited as of June 2024. I'm going to break down some key insights from the report and what they mean for IoT device manufacturers. We (qomodo) have been saying this for some time now - these technologies are low-hanging fruit, and encryption is not enough. Securing devices at the firmware level is essential to protect against these escalating threats.
