At school, Eddie felt university was the only path being presented. But he discovered through an apprenticeship he’s able to earn while he learns. Apprenticeships provide an alternative path for higher education and training. Unlike traditional university programmes, they combine on-the-job training with studying for a qualification, allowing students to earn while they learn. For Eddie, this meant, real-life experience in his chosen field, a secure income, and avoiding student debt. Jenny thought apprenticeships were just for 18-19 year-olds. She was keen to change career but was nervous about stepping into a new learning environment, but what she found was a diverse community of learners of all ages. The dedication displayed by our Radius Housing teams in ensuring the safety and security of our tenants during and in the immediate aftermath of Storm Éowyn has been nothing short of amazing. A huge thank you goes out to the Radius employees who made it into to our care homes and to the 4th Emergency Service in Connect24 to ensure our most vulnerable service users were cared for and had access to a lifeline. Our Asset, Community teams and partners have not stopped and have worked tirelessly throughout! They have wholeheartedly made every effort possible to ensure our buildings were safe, emergency repairs were made and our tenants in schemes who had lost power were safe and sound.
