Established in 1971 as Northern Ireland’s strategic housing authority, we offer a range of services to people living in socially rented, privately rented and owner occupied accommodation. Our goal is that everyone has access to decent, affordable housing and our task is to work with communities and other organisations, including public bodies, to meet the housing needs of existing and future generations. We are excited to reveal that work is underway on the rejuvenation of a listed building into four new residential apartments at the heart of Derry/Londonderry. The project at the two-storey Georgian terrace at 26, Pump Street will be completed in late 2025, at a cost of £655,000 by JPM Contracts Ltd and will be a significant investment and a major local economic boost for the city. We continue to meet the housing and support needs of applicants. Last year, 302 social housing units were on site, 90 social homes were completed and 316 are to start in the next three years in the Antrim and Newtownabbey area. Earlier this week Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council learned about our work adapting properties to meet the needs of people with disabilities. Last year we spent £74k on property adaptations with an additional £66k of Disabled Facilities Grants approved for private sector dwellings in the Antrim and Newtownabbey area.
