HOMES - LIVES - COMMUNITIES
About us
Woven (formerly Habinteg Housing Association (Ulster) Ltd) was founded in 1976 as a registered housing association in Northern Ireland. We plan, develop and manage ‘integrated’ housing schemes in both urban and rural areas throughout the region and work with a number of partner organisations in providing supported housing projects. Woven represents not only our name, but also what we do. Our aim is to develop housing and bring people together to create thriving neighbourhoods, weaving together homes, lives and communities to help create a shared vision of an inclusive Northern Ireland. Our Vision - Homes, lives and Communities; Woven, as one encapsulates this central aim. To achieve our Vision, we provide housing which combines a range of dwelling types - family houses, apartments and bungalows - in order to appropriately meet the needs of the widest range of users, including older persons and persons with a disability. Quality, sustainable developments include large and medium sized suburban housing developments, inner city apartments, individual rural cottages and specialised housing schemes. Partnership projects include sensitively designed housing with care schemes, temporary accommodation for people who are homeless, and housing initiatives for people with additional support needs. The standard and quality of Woven’s developments has been recognised at local and national level with an impressive list of high profile awards, including the UK Housing Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Housing in Northern Ireland and the RICS Award for the Northern Ireland region. We are a Customer Service Excellence organisation and have Investor in People Gold status. Woven’s main offices are in Belfast with a regional office in Derry/Londonderry. At an operational level, we have four Directorates - Homes & Communities, Asset Management, Development, Finance and Corporate Services.

Beechmount Village, Strabane progress update As we approach the halfway point in our handovers this March, we couldn’t resist a montage of the drone photos captured by our contactor, Kevin Watson Group, documenting the progress at our Beechmount Village site in Strabane along with some images of completed properties. To date, we have handed over 78 new homes to delighted tenants, with a further 80 to be completed and handed over this year. It has been a joy to watch this community grow with each phase of handovers and we look forward to welcoming the rest of our Beechmount Village tenants to their new homes in 2025. #affordablehousing #communities #wovenasone #Adria #Strabane

Boccia in Holywood … 🏆 The team have been enjoying delivering a 6 week Boccia programme with residents of Woven Housing Association from across Holywood at the Queens Leisure Complex. With access to structured physical activity, and social opportunities, it has been a fun and engaging few sessions so far. 😃🙌🏻 Huge credit to Woven (Philip) and the ‘Housing for All’ programme for supporting residents in local communities. #sportchangeslife #woven #boccia #community

We were delighted to conclude our WoFund Project - our first Participatory Budgeting initiative - with public deciding which of the many worthy community projects with Good Relations impact across Holywood would benefit from available grants, up to £1000, made available through Housing for All funding. All the community projects came together last week to make their Dragon’s Den style pitch, taking to the stage to sell their idea. The groups then voted, using a participatory budgeting model, to decide which groups would qualify for funding. Eight groups were successful in securing funds of up to £1000 for their outstanding project. They are: Holywood Parish Friday Night Youth Club; Groomsport FC U16s; Holywood Mini Rugby Club; Dunville Heritage Garden; Holywood Mens Shed; Holywood Community Network; Holywood District and Community Council; Giggle Box/Holywood Parish. Congratulations to the winning groups and many thanks to all who participated. We look forward to profiling some of the exciting projects over the coming months.
