At Rank, we’re always working to enhance safer gambling practices by using new technology - like our Hawkeye system - and increasing colleague awareness to better identify at-risk play. While most of our customers enjoy our offerings responsibly, a very small number may exhibit problem gambling behaviours, so it’s critical that we take every step to identify these individuals quickly and provide them with the support they need. Let’s help Sam’s Superheroes reach their target! We wanted to take a moment to share an inspiring story about one of our very own colleagues, Rachel Liew, MSc, CMIIA, and her incredible efforts to raise funds in memory of her son, Sam, who tragically passed away from FIRES (Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome) at just five years old. Sam’s mum, Rachel, has been tireless in her mission to support Great Ormond Street Hospital doctors and researchers, and fund research into this devastating syndrome through her charity, Sam’s Superheroes Foundation. In her latest challenge, Rachel completed Sam’s Big Scoot – a gruelling 50-mile scoot over three days. Her determination has already raised an amazing £17,860, and she’s pushing towards her goal of £50,000. We’d love to help her get there, and alongside the fundraising activities in Rank, we’re asking for your help too. We don't just excite and entertain our customers – we bring the fun to our colleagues too! Our Maidenhead office went full-on spooky today with a Halloween fundraiser for Carers Trust, featuring fancy dress and spooky bake-off competitions. It was fantastic to see everyone get involved, embrace the Halloween spirit, and most importantly, raise £138 for #unpaidcarers 👻🎃

The first quarter of our fundraising year has been a huge success, with an incredible £77,317 raised - that’s over £13,000 more than last year! A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the climbs, runs, walks, and head shaves or simply donated to one of the events to support #unpaidcarers. This has helped 165 carers with household items, respite breaks, training, and much-needed time off. Special thanks to Mark Harper and Samantha Collins for joining the latest Rank Cares Grant panel. Mark said: "It was humbling and life-affirming to witness the selflessness of carers and to help in some small way. I take great pride in the work our teams do supporting this charity." One carer shared: "This money was a lifesaver for me... £300 contributed greatly to flooring my living room. I cannot thank you enough – it's so appreciated, I could cry at the generosity!" We’re delighted to announce that Rank Interactive has won Safer Gambling Operator of the Year at the EGR Operator Awards last night!    As Liam Smith, Director of Customer Operations, highlighted, it really is an amazing achievement for those involved: “This award really underlines the demanding work done around the clock, every day of the year, by our Player Protection teams in Sheffield and Mauritius, and our innovation and development of the Hawkeye Risk Monitoring platform. It is real recognition of all the effort to get us here, by not only the Player Protection team on the frontline, but also Customer Services, Compliance, MLRO, Data, Product and PML holders.
