Donald Trump’s plans to cut corporate taxes could strengthen #USeconomicgrowth in the short term, as our election report discusses. But yields on #USgovernmentbonds could rise in response to an even wider #USfiscaldeficit and higher #USinflation. In the longer term, higher #USinterestrates would be likely to weaken growth - bad for #USstocks. The deficit also looks set to rise under Harris, but perhaps not as much. https://lnkd.in/ev9d8x-V #election #Trumponomics

Out now – The Sharpe End #podcast – Episode 40: The Great Malls of China. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/d8sdBncQ. The gaze turns eastward this month as David Coombs, Will McIntosh-Whyte and Craig Brown discuss #China’s recent stimulus. Will it be enough to wrestle the economy out of its post-COVID funk? Then the conversation turns to making sense of western #CentralBank #InterestRate cuts that coincide with conflicting economic data. Calling the direction of travel is challenging, so what does it mean for their portfolios? Finally, what has made UK-listed information and analytics business RELX a long-time holding in the funds? The podcast is suitable for retail and professional investors. You can find The Sharpe End wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes monthly.
