About us
Red Kite is a tenant-led, not-for-profit, charitable housing organisation. We are registered with the Regulator of Social Housing who monitor and regulate what we do to make sure that we meet the standards for managing and maintaining homes. Our tenants and leaseholders have a really important role in making sure that we keep to the promises that were made in the Housing Transfer Offer Document and we have lots of ways for them to get involved to help make sure that this happens. We manage around 6,500 homes which were transferred from Wycombe District Council in December 2011. These are mainly on estates in the urban centres of High Wycombe, Princes Risborough and Marlow, with others on estates in rural areas such as Lane End, Stokenchurch and Bourne End.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of watching family business Lubbe Lisse (Lubbe & Sons) at work with their fascinating mass bulb-planting machine. 👏 The team came down to our site at Foxes Piece in Marlow to plant a variety of bulbs whose flowering season will span from February to June. 🌸 This project was funded by our tenant-led Environmental Improvement Group, whose mission is to make our communities great places to live. Find out more about them: https://lnkd.in/ejQ7Vg39 This innovative way of planting was great to see in person - check out the videos! We've got another session booked in with Lubbe & Sons at Cross Road park - keep an eye to see the transformation!🌼 We can't wait to head back over to Foxes Piece next year to see the difference it's made. 🌻 🌹 🌷 🌼 Find out more about Lubbe & Sons: https://lnkd.in/ejmnSMZy

Every year, our tenant-led Resident Representative Team (RRT) decides to focus on a particular service area and conduct a detailed scrutiny review. As part of their recent scrutiny review of our approach to cases of damp, mould and condensation (DMC) they sent one of their members, Ron, out for a day to shadow one of our Technical Officers. The Technical Officer was visiting tenants who’d reported DMC in their homes to investigate the problem and agree an action plan to resolve the issue. Ron got to test out a damp meter, which measures the moisture content of walls and other parts of a building, and a hygrometer, which measures the moisture content of the air in a tenant’s home. Ron said: “It was really gratifying to see that some of the recommendations we’d suggested during our scrutiny investigation are in place and improving the service for our fellow tenants.” The final part of the scrutiny review will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 9th October) when an independent consultant will help RRT members verify our implementation of the actions they recommended to help improve the service we offer around DMC. The Head of our Employee Experience Project, Dr. Aasia Nisar BAHons, PGDip, MSc, PhD, FCIH chaired Westminster Insight’s Tenant Engagement Conference last week. The event explored innovative tenant engagement strategies and best practice for resident involvement, and spotlighted the complex needs of diverse tenant groups. Aasia said it was a privilege to chair the conference, adding: "It was a real opportunity to hear from a number of informed speakers including the Regulator of Social Housing and the Housing Ombudsman, but also from staff who shared their experiences about amazing projects they have undertaken through co-production with their tenants, resulting in better customer services. A really great conference and I was proud to have had the opportunity to chair it." You can find out more about the conference at https://lnkd.in/eK7tZqTh

Our Tenancy Sustainment Specialist has recently been complimented for their exceptional work with one of our tenants who struggles with mental health issues. Our Tenancy Sustainment Specialist has been instrumental in providing consistent support and guidance to our tenant, who had previously visited our office feeling overwhelmed and distressed. By offering a listening ear and understanding our tenant's challenges, they have played a vital role in helping them regain a sense of hope and stability. Through regular communication and encouragement, the Tenancy Sustainment Specialist has empowered our tenant to take proactive steps towards improving their mental health and living situation. This included encouraging them to resume their medication and seek support from their GP. The tenant's gratitude for the support they have received is evident in their heartfelt words: “I have had major issues with my mental health for a very long time, and I've been unable to function to do normal tasks. I felt as though the world was on top of me. However, since receiving weekly guidance and support from the Tenancy Sustainment Specialist my life has changed for the better. I honestly believe they have saved my life. I want you to know how important staff members like this one are for vulnerable tenants like myself. Their patience has given me so much ease. Thank you for assigning them to me.” Our Tenancy Sustainment Specialist's dedication and commitment to supporting our tenants is a testament to their exceptional skills and compassion. Their work has made a significant difference in the tenant's life, and we are proud to have them as part of our team. #TenancySustainment #SupportingTenants
