We’re delighted to announce that we’re in discussions with Settle about a partnership to create a new housing association. As part of our growth strategy and ambition to be larger and more local, we’ve also announced today our intention to buy almost 3,500 homes from L&Q. This means that the new organisation formed through our partnership with Settle would own and manage 30,000 homes, mainly in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Our Boards signed off the initial business case this week to formally explore the partnership. If proposals go ahead, the new organisation, initially known as SettleParadigm, would be the largest housing association working in the region. We believe that by working together we will be able to deliver better services and achieve more for all our residents and communities. Matthew Bailes, Chief Executive at Paradigm and Rod Cahill, Interim Chief Executive at Settle said: “We are delighted to announce these proposals today. Settle and Paradigm share the same geography, we both focus on core social housing, and both organisations want to deliver excellent services, high quality homes and more new affordable homes to help tackle the housing crisis. We believe that by joining together, we can achieve more – remaining local and at the same time delivering the advantages of scale by working more efficiently and cost-effectively together.” Settle and Paradigm will now begin a period of due diligence and resident consultation, with the expectation that decisions about whether to proceed with the partnership are made later this summer. About us
We’re Paradigm Housing Group. We manage almost 16, 000 homes across 30 local authorities, predominantly in the South East. Our vision is to make the best use of our resources so that we can provide more affordable homes to those who need them most, as well as offering a fair deal to our existing residents. As a charitable organisation, the surplus we make is ploughed back into building new homes – our Corporate Plan sets out our intention to build 600 new homes a year for rent and sale. We also provide support to the communities where we work through the Paradigm Foundation.
