The Redwood Bank team marked World Mental Health Day with a breakfast get-together to discuss this year’s theme, “It’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace”. This year’s subject is particularly relevant to us here at Redwood, and something we’re proud to have been practising for some time. Our Health and Wellbeing Ambassadors hosted this morning’s breakfast sessions in our Letchworth and Warrington offices, allowing everyone to spend some time together discussing mental health within the workplace. The session finished with a couple of interactive games to round off a fantastic start to the day at both Redwood offices. Redwood Bank is delighted to be a main sponsors at this Friday’s Wellbeing Conference hosted by the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce. As proud members of the Chamber, this week’s conference at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Science Park in Watford was something we were keen to get involved with. The Wellbeing Conference will cover a wide range of topics and feature a fantastic line-up of speakers, including Olympic medallist and swimming icon Sharron Davies MBE, and our ESG manager Alex John. Alex will be talking about the interrelated nature of individual financial wellbeing and the financial health of small businesses. We wish all the attendees, speakers and exhibitors a great conference. To learn more about the Wellbeing Conference, follow the link below: https://bit.ly/47Wh1mt #WMHD24 #mentalhealth #wellbeing

Redwood Bank is always looking to strengthen its team, and we’ve recently added a new face from Down Under with the arrival of our new ESG manager, Alex John. We have demonstrated commitment to our ESG objectives in recent years through a series of initiatives, including the launch of a special Green Reward for landlords, as well as a number of volunteering projects with local organisations. Alex arrives at Redwood following an impressive banking career in Australia, where he spent time in roles within business development, product development, risk, strategy and ESG. We’d like to welcome Alex to not only Redwood but also the UK following his move from Sydney to London. The smell of cakes and coffee filled the air as the Redwood team came together for a Macmillan Coffee Morning. As well as a chance to spend some time together as a team to start the day and enjoy some wonderful homemade cakes and cookies, it was also a fantastic opportunity to raise vital funds to support the amazing work being done by Macmillan Cancer Support. Thanks to everyone who brought in their delicious treats, and to everyone who donated. ☕🍰

If you haven’t checked out the latest issue of The Intermediary, you’re missing out. This month’s magazine features a fantastic interview with our very own Chief Commercial Officer John Eastgate. From how organisations such as Redwood can punch above their weight when competing with the bigger banks, to looking at the current state of the buy-to-let market, and a lot more, this is a fascinating look at the growing importance of specialist buy-to-let lending. You can read the full online issue of the magazine here: https://lnkd.in/eXJZVBmU #buytolet #lending #RedwoodBank
The September digital issue of The Intermediary is now live! This month, while the Labour Party beds in, and amid warnings of a "painful" Budget ahead, we dedicate our special focus, fittingly, to buy-to-let and the plight of today's #landlords. In our main interview, Lloyd Cochrane of NatWest discusses the changing face of the #BTL market, and the role of lenders in addressing its challenges. The special focus also sees us sit down with Darren Deacon and Nathan Waller CeMAP to discuss Family Building Society's BTL Offset product, Michael Says at GB Bank about setting out as a new lender, and John Eastgate from Redwood Bank about the growing role of specialist lenders in this market. The feature takes a look at how landlords, lenders and brokers are navigating the many hurdles in BTL, and we also have expert commentary from Rob Stanton, Martese Carton, Andy Rowe, Kathy Bowes, David Whittaker, Daryl Norkett, Jonathan Samuels, Steve Cox, and more! Returning to The Intermediary's usual favourites, this month we take a look at launching a new specialist lender with Gavin Diamond and Owen Bentley of Inspired Lending, speed and service in second charge with Matt Tristram, Ian Praed and Robert Barnard, and revolutionising the network model with Sam Fox. Our Local Focus this month dives into the market in #Newport, while Meet the BDM sits down with Mike Norrish at The Exeter. As usual we are also chock full of fantastic editorial from the likes of Jeff Knight, Rob Clifford, Alison Pallett, Mark Blackwell, Gurpreet Chahal CMgr, Harpal Singh, Sharon Beedham, Robert Oliver, Ylva Oertengren, Victor Jannels CertPFS CeMAP CPSP, Ceri Blackwell, Jatin Ondhia, Jason Berry, Marios Theophanous, Anna Lewis, Laura Thomas (Morgan), Averil Leimon, Paul Thomas, Lee Blackwell, and many more... “We understand not all cases are black and white, for example we bring the skills and experience of the applicant into our risk assessment, as well as the strength of the asset or the length of any leases in place.” Our Business Development Manager Ian Tudor featured on an expert panel in a Commercial Mortgage Special issue of Positively Speaking from Positive Lending. Ian joined some fellow industry experts to provide his insight into the current trends and opportunities in commercial mortgages, including how Redwood Bank’s human touch influences how we approach individual cases. It’s the final round of the regular season for Warrington Wolves this evening and what a season it’s been. The play-offs are still to come for the men, but we want to send our congratulations to Sam Burgess, the squad, and the whole Wolves organisation for an incredible 2024 campaign. We also want to send a massive well done to Armani Sharrock and the Warrington Women's squad for their spirit and togetherness at the end of a tough season. It’s a genuine honour to be involved in such a proud and well-run institution, and we’ve taken great pleasure in seeing how much the town has backed both the men’s and women’s teams all season. We’ll be at the Halliwell Jones this evening to cheer the boys on and hopefully see us end the regular season with a bang. #WarringtonWolves
