Specialist Labour Supply Agency

About us

Reliable Contractors have been providing contingency labour supporting tier one contractors on major infrastructure projects for over 40 years. As a family run business integrity has been incorporated into all our business relationships and has been the foundation on which all our decisions have been made. In 1974 Reliable Contractors Limited was involved in building the world’s 2nd largest move able flood barrier – London’s Thames Barrier – helping to prevent the floodplains of most of Greater London from being flooded by the high tides and storm surges from the North Sea. Soon after, we were involved in the construction of one of Britain’s busiest motorway networks – the M25 – encircling almost all of Greater London. We then began work on the Olympic Park in 2007 in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games and had an ongoing presence until the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in April 2014, then over the years our continuous investment in our people combined with our consultative approach has seen us also become an established supplier of tunnelling personnel for all forms of tunnelling works and shaft sinking projects. In 2009 Reliable Contractors Limited began work on several of Europe’s largest infrastructure Crossrail projects including The Western Tunnel Drive between Royal Oak and Farringdon stations along with Major SCL works at various stations en route.

Today marks World Mental Health Day 🧠🌎 This year's theme is to prioritize mental health in the workplace, and we wish to emphasize the importance of creating a supportive and understanding environment for employees. Supporting mental health not only benefits the individuals but also contributes to a more productive and positive work environment. Let's continue to raise awareness, provide support, and break the stigma surrounding mental health in the construction industry and beyond. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #ReliableContractors

Anyone can get breast cancer, so it’s important to know your normal. ✅ Touch your breasts ✅ Look for changes ✅ Check anything new or unusual with a GP There’s no right way to check. Just make sure you do it regularly. Your breasts can change for many reasons – like the menopause, pregnancy and breastfeeding, puberty or even over your period. So, if you check them regularly, you’ll be able to spot any changes that should be checked out by a GP. What’s your normal? https://lnkd.in/etjqEP45

Today at our head office, we hosted a Macmillan bake sale, and the turnout was fantastic! 🎂🍰 Our colleagues brought in delicious homemade cakes to sell, and we raised a significant amount of money to support Macmillan's incredible work. We also organized a fun coffee and cake quiz to promote collaboration and togetherness while enjoying cake of course! ☕️🧁 We are proud to support Macmillan and contribute to such a meaningful cause. #MacmillanBakeSale #Charity #ReliableContractors

Training update 🦺🏗️ Last week, our Health, Safety and Well-being Manager, Jon Street CMIOSH, conducted an insightful harness training session at the Balfour Beatty VINCI sublot 5. The training course was met with brilliant success and feedback. Jon commented on how great it was to witness the active participation of engineers on the course who play a pivotal role in contributing to the development of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), focusing on work at height controls. We are appreciative of Jon's commitment to fostering a safety-oriented culture within our organization and look forward to more such engaging training sessions under his guidance 👏👏 #SiteSafety #Training #ReliableContractors

After attending the Women in Construction Awards, a team from our Sandwich office also participated in the London Construction Awards the following evening. Reliable Contractors were nominated for the Excellence in Community Engagement award. It was an honor to be selected among other fantastic industry professionals and provided a great networking opportunity. The highlight of the evening for our team was meeting the inspiring Dr. Wei Yang and listening to her speech covering changes within the industry. This recognition means a great deal to us as it underscores the value we place on engaging with and giving back to the communities in which we operate. We are truly grateful for the acknowledgment of our efforts in this area and remain committed to furthering our community engagement initiatives. #CommunityEngagements #Recognition #ReliableContractors

On site this morning with Kam Hundal (SEE Business Partner – Employment & Skills) for BBV. Meeting with Melody Gowe our first placement from the recent Women in Construction program held at South and City College in Bordesley Green Birmingham, getting women into construction. Melody is now working at Sublot 5S as a Traffic Marshall and has an excellent career ahead of her. Another course has started this week at South & City college through BBV and we are excited to be apart of that, introducing more woman onto the project. Currently women make up 14-15% of the construction industry and 2-3% of site labour. Many thanks to Kam & Melody #womeninconstruction#WIC#collaboration#designandbuildmagazine#BBV#makinganimpact
