We caught up with jewellery designer Thelma West at her London studio to discuss how we can humanise ‘ESG’ and deepen our understanding of sustainability in the jewellery industry. From responsible sourcing to mindful craftsmanship, Thelma shares her vision for jewellery that honours both people and the planet. 🔗 RJC #ESG toolkit: https://shorturl.at/EoaVt The ESG toolkit breaks down the purpose and scope of all the ESG reporting frameworks and standards that are currently on the market, in efforts to equip RJC members with the knowledge to make an informed decision based on their individual business needs. #RJC #ESG #ResponsibleJewelleryCouncil #ThelmaWest #JewelleryDesigner #JewelleryDesign #JewelryDesign

About us
United by a shared belief that responsible business is good business, we work together with our members and partners to create a globally sustainable future for our industry. Founded in 2005, we are the world’s leading standard-setting organisation for the jewellery and watch industry and global supply chain. We also have an important role to play as the voice for the industry on its most critical Environmental, Social and Government (ESG) issues, and accelerate collective progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2030. RJC Code of Practices (COP) is the global standard for the responsible jewellery and watch industry, focusing on business ethics and responsible supply chains. Our COP covers all the primary minerals and metals used in the manufacture of jewellery: gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones. Our robust certification process is independently audited and ISEAL accredited, upholding the highest standards.

The Responsible Jewellery Council Code of Practices (COP) Standard aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs) - driving positive change across the jewellery and watch supply chain. From responsible sourcing and environmental stewardship to human rights and fair labour practices, our standards empower members to contribute directly to the global #sustainability agenda by prioritising responsible business practices. We’re proud to uphold transparency, ethical governance, and sustainable practices that advance SDGs like #ClimateAction (SDG 13), #GenderEquality (SDG 5), and #ResponsibleConsumption (SDG 12). Together, we’re crafting a future where luxury meets responsibility. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eQ9mD3x9 #SustainableJewellery #ResponsibleJewellery #EthicalSourcing #SDG2030 #Humanity #LuxuryWithPurpose #UNDay
