Legislation Updates with Raluca Anghel, Natural Diamond Council. The EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is raising the bar. Starting January 2025, large companies and listed SMEs must report on their environmental and social impacts – with independent audits. The CSRD introduces "double materiality," meaning companies will assess both how sustainability risks impact them and their effect on people and the planet. Aligned with CSRD, the RJC’s upcoming COP standards - focusing on legal compliance, policy, reporting, and impact assessment – can support members in navigating these new requirements.  Does CSRD apply to you?
