Ramadan Mubarak! - Blessed Ramadan! You may be aware that we're in the month of Ramadan and we wanted to share with you a little info to help understand more if you're curious as to why Muslims in your team or social circles have been fasting in the past few weeks. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and is said to be the month that the Qur'an was revealed to the prophet Muhammad, so it has a special significance to Muslims. Muslims will fast during daylight hours in the month of Ramadan and it is one of the 5 pillars of Islam along with faith, prayer, charity and pilgrimage. It happens 11 days earlier every year, so not always in March/April, as it's based on Lunar month's that are shorter than solar months, so it falls a little kinder this year in terms of fasting during daylight hours! As we approach the end of Ramadan we asked our Area Manager, Hamza Durrani to help explain what it is, and what it means to him and for Muslims. Spread some Cuban Kindness this Easter! In collaboration with the team at Mozart Chocolate Liqueur we are bringing Cuban kindness to communities this Easter. Across our 15 Revolucion de Cuba venues, we have launched a special Easter campaign to collect donations of Easter eggs, big and small, from 5th March to 23rd March. In exchange for these Easter egg donations, guests will receive a cocktail voucher for the exclusive and delectable Bounty Rumtini, featuring Mozart Chocolate Liqueur. This limited edition cocktail promises a taste of indulgence, blending the rich flavours of Mozart Milk Chocolate Liqueur with the tropical essence of Malibu Coconut Rum. How to Contribute: 1.    Visit any Revolucion de Cuba venue between now and the 23rd March. 2.    Drop off your Easter egg donations at the bar. 3.    Receive a cocktail voucher for the exclusive Bounty Rumtini as a token of our appreciation to redeem over the Easter Weekend. Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we’re celebrating the impacts of all of our women within RBG who contribute to our success every day. From our dedicated teams to our inspiring leaders, we recognise and appreciate the invaluable role that they play in shaping our journey! As we take stock, we're proud to share that over half of our executive team comprises talented women. Their leadership and vision drive our success every day. We're also very fortunate that, as well as continuing to nurture our Revolucion De Cuba brand, our Brand Ops Director, Alex McMillan is leveraging her excellence and innovation to grow and shape our Revolution brand too! And while we're reflecting on the #InvestInWomen theme of IWD, our commitment to investing in women's growth and development shines through our HIPO (High Potential) General Manager intake. Here’s what some our GMs said about the course: Lianne Sargent – HIPO GM – Peach Pubs – The White Lion It’s great to work with people, who have diverse views and personalities that contrast my own, and gain feedback and insight that you don’t always get until you go through development processes like the HIPO GM course. It’s been great to see that Peach Pubs and RBG have the same values and want the same thing, and the acquisition has made the opportunities for us bigger, especially in terms of personal growth with the HIPO course. We really embrace and celebrate our focus on female empowerment and inclusion – it’s great that we can shout about it! Katy Larsen-McHugh – HIPO GM – Revolution Liverpool Albert Dock Being a full time working mum in hospitality, it has come with its challenges in navigating the right work life balance, but Revolution have enabled me to find that balance, and also including me in the progress of our new enhanced maternity package are all vital steps towards more women in leadership. I’ve seen significant differences in our culture over the last few years, and programs like our HIPO are developing much needed pathways for growth, progression and succession. As one of the themes for International Women’s Day, is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, I think it’s a timely reminder to us all to continually learn and educate ourselves on ways we can include and be included. We are pleased to share the results from our partnership with Absolut and Pernod Ricard for their Plant a Tree campaign! Over the festive period, for every Absolut Liquid Gold Tree sold in our Revolución de Cuba venues, and Absolut Pornstar Martini paddles sold within our Revolution bars, contributed to a tree planted for the Plant a Tree campaign with Ecologi | B Corp™ Our Liquid Gold Trees have funded 313 trees, and our Pornstar Martini Paddles an additional 570 trees. That’s 813 trees in total to be planted, all thanks to our amazing guests! This impactful initiative, powered by Absolut’s partnership with Ecologi | B Corp™, transcends borders as farmers and local villagers globally join hands to plant these trees. Did you know, that each mangrove tree planted removes approximately 0.3 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere over its 25-year life. That's a tangible contribution to fighting climate change. But that's not all! Towards the end of 2023, members of the Revolution Bars Group team, alongside Absolut and the Pernod Ricard team, took action to cement this partnership by planting the "Revolution Bars Group forest." Introducing From Cuba With GLove, a heart warming (and hand warming) campaign dedicated to delivering Cuban kindness and making a positive impact in local communities ❄🥊 From the 3rd-31st January, we invite our Revolución de Cuba guests to be a part of this charitable initiative. Guests can bring unwanted pairs of gloves, hats, or scarves to any of our 17 Revolución de Cuba venues across the UK. As a token of our appreciation, participants will receive a complimentary Banana Manaña cocktail! The Banana Manaña cocktail, featuring Banana Peel Rum from Discarded Spirits is a celebration of sunshine in a glass. This limited-time offer encourages guests to contribute to a meaningful cause, bolstering Discarded Spirit’s mission to reverse needless waste and joining them in their efforts to inspire environmental progress.
