  • 🎉 Exciting news! 🎉 Starting today, we are starting a weekly showcase of the shortlisted projects for the North West RIBA Awards 2025, sharing them alphabetically—one incredible project at a time! We couldn’t be prouder of the talent, creativity, and innovation across our region. 🌟 As RIBA North West Jury Chair, Dominic Wilkinson, Principal Lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University, says: “This year's shortlist demonstrates the region's ongoing ambition to create high-quality architecture, with a strong selection of projects across a range of scales. Public buildings are well represented with a commitment to excellence which offers hope for the civic realm. From small houses to large events venues, and from new builds to creative adaptation of historic structures, the shortlisted projects highlight a serious commitment to minimising carbon footprints and reducing the environmental impact of the construction sector, displaying the positive role architecture plays for both clients and the wider community.” ✨ This week, we are shining a spotlight on Aviva Studios – Factory International! ✨ Let’s let the images speak for themselves… 📸👇 RIBA RIBA North West #RIBAAwards #RIBA2025 #Architecture #DesignExcellence #SustainableDesign #NorthWestPride #AvivaStudios #FactoryInternational #CivicArchitecture #CreativeReuse #ProudRegion

  • A Night of Celebration and Inspiration with the Cheshire Society of Architects! Tonight, we had the pleasure of joining the Cheshire Society of Architects AGM, and what an incredible evening it was! With a fantastic turnout—including the society’s youngest honorary member at just 7 months old—the atmosphere felt like one big architectural family. It was a true celebration of how a small but dedicated branch can make a huge impact. We reflected on the impressive work led by @lucy m crowther over the past two years and got a glimpse of the bold vision that newly elected president @Millie Thompson has for the future. Expect great things ahead! Here’s to the power of community, passion, and volunteer spirit in shaping the profession. Very honoured to have been asked to talk at the RIBA North West planning round table with Trafford Council Planning Department. A lot of subjects covered from the adopted design code, design certifiers to meaningful cooperative working. Great to have a good representation of architects in the room.
