DVIP, a division of Richmond Fellowship, are looking for an interim Service Manager to support the family court’s team in London. As Service Manager you’ll provide high quality supervision and proofing to our expert witnesses on their reports. Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay This year’s theme: ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’ encourages us all to #StartTheConversation around a difficult topic. The aim of this theme is to highlight the importance of engaging in open and honest discussions about mental health and suicide. Suicide rates in England have risen by 7.6% since 2022 (currently at the highest annual rate since 1999), making it more important than ever to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding suicide. Suicide is often considered a taboo topic of conversation; one that many of us shy away from in fear of feeling uncomfortable. However, this stigma is one of the biggest obstacles preventing those having suicidal ideations from seeking the help they need. Raising awareness and breaking down stigma is crucial to reducing suicide rates. Talking about suicide can save someone’s life. On Tuesday, Georgia May Turnbull visited Richmond Fellowship in North Shields and met with Stuart Dexter, the regional operations manager. Stuart shared his values on a supportive, person-centred approach to working with clients. Richmond Fellowship is a community-based service that works with individuals affected by mental health. The organisation will soon merge with Humankind Charity to form a national charity supporting those with multiple and complex needs, including mental health, alcohol, drugs, and other related areas. During the meeting, they also discussed the essential services they offer, and Georgia provided updates on Teakisi’s activities since their last meeting with Stuart at our #BlackHistoryMonth event Elevate Symposium '23.
