✨ MIPIM 2025: shaping a future where the work of our members makes an impact. We’ve spent the week amplifying surveyors’ expertise and paving the way for more people to learn skills that tackle the ever-evolving challenges in our profession. 📌 Yesterday’s agenda saw us address many of those developing issues head on. Justin Young moderated a session about our changing profession. He discussed topics including improving access to new tech, our need for adaptability as new skill needs emerge, the role of AI and data and embracing diversity. As Justin said, ‘Technology is nothing unless we have the skills to use it in the best way.’ 📌 Nicholas Maclean, OBE RD FRICS hosted a networking lunch dedicated to closing the skills gap, and delved further into the barriers to surveying careers and the opportunities for exciting, varied careers. Among the wide-ranging debate, attendees discussed the diversity of individuals we must attract to the profession and the tools at our disposal to entice them. 📌 We’ve connected with members, hosted workshops, debated on panels and even handed over a course accreditation to ESCP Business School We’re grateful to the hundreds of members and other influential individuals that connected, debated and strategised with us this week. Together, we’re ready to take on the challenges ahead. #UrbanDevelopment #RealEstate #Sustainability #SkillsForTheFuture #MIPIM2025

🌍 RICS Members’ Reception at MIPIM Thanks to all the members who gathered in Cannes last night 👏 Almost 200 members joined us to network, share their insights, celebrate our collective achievements and discuss the future of our profession. 💬 Speeches were given by RICS Acting President Nicholas Maclean, OBE RD FRICS, Chair of the European World Regional Board Susanne Eickermann-Riepe FRICS, and our French board chair Fabrice LEGER, FRICS - Registered Valuer. All acknowledged that our profession is rapidly changing, and we asked the question, ‘How can RICS and its members better serve and support the public right now and in the years to come?’ This question will be explored in more detail this week as RICS leaders, including Justin Young, Martin Samworth and Frank Hovorka, collaborate with other changemakers in the industry to shape solutions in skills, housing and sustainability.
