Delivering warmer energy-efficient homes 🏡 We are pleased to announce that following a successful Warm Homes: Social Housing Funding (Wave 3) bid we will to be able to deliver energy efficiency upgrades to over 3000 homes. This £36m of grant funding will scale up our retrofit activities and help contribute towards the goal of Net Zero. It will mean warmer and more energy efficient homes for our customers and will also create new skilled jobs in a growth area. We have been awarded Strategic Partner status by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Under Wave 2.1, we have already delivered energy efficiency improvements to over 1,000 homes in Carlisle, Halton, Liverpool and London and this new funding will have a huge impact on our customers. We’re excited to take handover of Samara House, the first new block at Pike Close in Bromley, South London, where we have delivered 29 new high-quality, energy-efficient homes for existing residents 🏡 ✨ Last month we welcomed residents to visit their new homes and start planning for their move 🔑 Finally getting to see their future new homes in person was clearly a special moment for everyone involved 💫 A huge thank you to our joint venture partners Vistry Group, our consultants, architects, local stakeholders, and of course the Pike Close residents for making this possible 👏 🙌 Watch the progress on this regeneration scheme from November 2023 via our time-lapse camera below👇 👇 👇

This week Sally Nichols FCMI CMgr spoke in Parliament at the launch of a Parliamentary Inquiry into Creating Intergenerational Communities. The year-long Inquiry is part of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Housing and Care for Older People which Riverside is co-sponsoring. Chaired by Lord Best and Anna Dixon MP, the APPG helps advance Parliament’s understanding and champion how we plan, design and deliver better accommodation for an ageing population and offer a better range of housing choices as we age. New rough sleeping figures show a 20% increase since 2023. 4,667 people were homeless on the streets on a single night in autumn 2024. These record figures must be seen as a red alert warning to the government that the housing crisis in England is now becoming a humanitarian emergency.
