Rivus HGV appointed by DHL eCommerce UK Rivus HGV, a subsidiary of Rivus Group, has been appointed by DHL eCommerce UK for repair and maintenance services at purpose-built VMU, in a new five-year contract starting August 2024. The appointment sees Rivus HGV exclusively provide repair and maintenance services on 733 DHL eCommerce trailers at a purpose-built Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) in Ryton-on-Dunsmore. This will be inclusive of preparation and presentation for MOT and LOLER tests and management of the R&M schedule to increase operational efficiency. It is expected around 25 jobs will be created for the area in provision of this service. Rivus has been managing some of the UK’s most mission-critical HGV fleets for over 30 years – specialising in the demanding supermarket sector – and the contract award allows the business to bring their proven processes into the parcel delivery industry and give DHL eCommerce the benefit of this heritage and experience. This has seen Rivus HGV provide knowledge and advice on the fit-out of the VMU so it operates at its optimum, while also investing in additional specialist workshop equipment to ensure that DHL eCommerce’s volume requirements are achieved and operational downtime is minimised. The VMU, located within DHL’s new 25,000m² hub near Coventry Airport, is comprised of three pits and one hard standing bay. The 24/7-364 operation will ensure the DHL eCommerce trailer fleet meets all safety and compliance requirements, helping them continue to be a trusted delivery company for parcel deliveries in the UK and around the world. “This collaboration not only marks a significant milestone for Rivus HGV but underscores our position as a trusted industry leader,” said Dave Jones, Managing Director of Rivus HGV. “We are excited to embark on this journey, ensuring peak performance and reliability for DHL’s critical fleet operations. We look forward to a fruitful partnership and are excited to continue setting new standards of excellence together.”

Rivus are proud to announce that we have recently signed up to the UK Police Industry Charter. Following the go-live of our contract with the Metropolitan Police in late-2023, this marks the next step in our commitment to fostering stronger partnerships in the blue light sector and ensures we uphold essential standards. The Police Industry Charter was launched in March 2024 to set the foundational principles upon which industry partners, whatever their product or services, together with UK policing can collectively adhere to. By signing the charter, Rivus has reaffirmed our commitment to working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies: this will ensure our fleet management offering remains fit for purpose and our services adhere to the five principles set out in the charter.

As 2023 draws to a close, the Rivus Elves have been busy writing prose! Twas 5 sleeps until Christmas, and all across the Group, the Christmas songs were blasting on loop. Colleagues working hard, keeping fleets on the road, helping each other and sharing the load. This is our Christmas toast to you, for all the important work that you do. For epic spreadsheets, every project big or small, for late nights, early mornings, and a thousand Teams calls! For teams in our workshops and out on the move, for the days when you're perhaps not feeling your groove, for your perseverance and dedication throughout, every colleague at Rivus deserves a shout out! Some fleets we tend to 24 hours, 365 days a year, so we have to be switched on and always in gear. Whether it's keeping the Met Police on the beat, or ensuring your supermarket has your favourite treat! You should feel very proud of the work that you do, every role plays its part and we really thank you! 2023 in fleet has been a tough year, through storms of change and challenging times, but in the world of fleet we all stayed in gear! To all our Colleagues and Customers, whatever you do this Christmas, make sure you get rest, we want everyone next year to feel at their best.
